. I didn't think of it in terms of crap, but intuitively thought, "I like it.

First of all, Mr. Kurihara, could you tell us your first impression when you saw the "Seiko Prospex Fieldmaster" that Mr. Kajiwara worked on?

chestnut field. I took a quick look at it and thought, "This is a very cool watch. Watches are a deep world, and many people have a geeky view of them, but with the Seiko Prospex Fieldmaster, it was a gut feeling, not a word of wisdom, that told me "I like it.

marshland: Field watches are also a perfect fit for the world of the Journal Standard.

chestnut field: Yes, it is. I knew at first glance that our clients would love it.

Versatile and easy to match with today's fashion.

The last model produced by LOWERCASE, which you preside over, was a diver's watch, but why a field watch this time?

marshlandI had always thought that a diver's watch was the first watch that came to my mind that matched the current fashion, but I also thought that a field watch would be just as good a match for the current fashion.

There are various types of field watches, but what were you conscious of when you started producing them?

marshlandThe Seiko watch is a new model born from the Seiko legacy: a design and functionality appropriate for today's fashion, while leveraging Seiko's legacy. . The new model was created by combining a size and excellent toughness suitable for town use, a classical design inspired by Seiko's historical masterpieces, and a unique outer case protector structure.

chestnut field. The last diver's watch was attractive, but this field watch is also nice. . It is versatile and seems to be easy to match with any style.

Could you tell us how you would recommend coordinating each of the three field watch models to be released this time?

chestnut field. The chic black and black (left photo) can be worn with a suit or jacket, while the khaki and beige (right photo) would go well with American casual styles such as outdoor or military. The black and brown (center photo) is somewhere in between, and would go well with both casual and jacket styles. I think that all of these colors will easily fit in with today's casual styles in general.

The nylon strap is light and comfortable to wear .

How about the details?

chestnut field.: I think one of the key points of this model is the nylon strap. Not only does it look good, but it is actually lightweight and fashionable as well. It is also comfortable to wear.

marshland. I have personally liked military-style nylon straps for a long time. I have often changed a watch that originally had a metal band to a nylon strap, and there were many people around me who did so as well. Then, why not use a nylon strap from the beginning? . With this in mind, we decided to use a nylon strap for this model.

An exquisite price range that was not likely to be found.

What does a wristwatch mean to you?

chestnut field. It is an important fashion item as a man's accessory as well as a tool for checking the time, but I would say it is more of a tool. . Since it is a tool, it is very important that it is sturdy enough not to break even after hard use. . I think this is a good choice for all kinds of activities.

The time has come again for watches to be interesting.

marshlandThe watch is water resistant to 20 bar, and the outer case protector structure, a design feature of the watch, protects the movement from shocks. . Moreover, the watch is solar-powered, so you don't have to worry about the battery running out.

What do you think of the price from a buyer's point of view ?

chestnut field. it's affordable, but it's not cheap. It is an exquisite price range that was not likely to be found.

marshland. Yes, that's exactly what I was aiming for (laughs). What I personally feel is that the positioning of wristwatches has been transforming over the past year or two. Until then, watches were polarized into two categories: luxury watches that cost several hundred thousand yen or more as a luxury item and casual watches that cost around 10,000 yen with an emphasis on functionality.

Lately, however, watches are rapidly becoming fashion items, and I think the middle class between luxury and casual watches is becoming more interesting. . That is to say, one could say that the choices have expanded, and we may be able to say that the era of interesting wristwatches has come again.
