You have never talked about your own fashion before, have you?
small field. Indeed, I've never talked about fashion before. That's fresh (laughs).
When you saw "A+S," you said while taking pictures that "the sneakers lined up in a row are spectacular.
small field. Before we started shooting, he explained to me that he was sampling the work of a famous architect. . Indeed, it was wonderful to see. The sneakers you wore for this shoot were white Nike sneakers. What did you think of the comfort and design?
small field: I liked them right away, you know, I liked them . So much so that I'm thinking of wearing them home (laughs). They are wonderfully comfortable.
I have one that a professor gave me , and I like it.
Do you usually wear sneakers?
small field. but I don't wear these high-tech-looking things.
How many pairs do you have?
small field. except for the ones I put away, I guess I have four or five pairs in the foyer.
Do you have a particular brand or model that you like?
small fieldI have one that Professor (Ryuichi Sakamoto) gave me, but I don't remember what it was.... . I forgot. Can you say a little about the brand you can think of?

small fieldOh, that's it. The leather ones from "New Balance. I wore them and liked them so much, I wore them out.

Do you have any shoes that you wear a lot these days?
small field. I bought some solid, boot-like shoes because of the snow in the winter. . I'm impatient, so I like to go out quickly. . I'm impatient and want to go out quickly. That's why I like slip-on shoes the best. I like shoes that I can put on quickly and easily.
In that sense, you are a sneaker guy, aren't you?
small field. maybe. Sneakers are very easy to wear. I put them on while I'm walking around, because that's my routine. Out of the front door.
When it comes to sneakers, do you have any criteria for choosing? What things are important to you, etc. .
small field. I had a chance to look around the store today, and there are a lot of fun things to look at, but if I were to wear them myself, I'd be more interested in shoes that are a mix of chic and high-tech. That's what I chose today.

What do you like about it?
small field. The green shoes are fresh, aren't they? This one is not so pointy, and the sole is very high-tech. The balance between the two is interesting.

What is important to you in expressing fashion?
small field. There is a guy in my group who is very stylish. His name is Yukihiro Takahashi. I always think I can't compete with him. I don't think about it. I don't know if I'm right or not when it comes to the clothes I wear. I'm not very good at it. . So if I were to use his fashion as a reference, I can't do that either. It's too upscale (laughs).
. You are the most fashionable person in YMO, aren't you, Mr. Takahashi?
small field: Yes, it is. I think it's the most fashionable thing in the world.
Are there any other fashion influences?
small field. not so much these days. I don't have much these days, but I've been watching Hollywood movies from the 40's. . I adored those movies. For example, everyone can easily watch "The Glenn Miller Story" with James Stewart. Well, this is a movie from the 50s. But the fashion is really good.
Do you have a favorite fashion style?
small field. at one time, around the 30's, during the Great Depression. I was not a celebrity, wearing an American cassock or something like that . I admired the working class, or rather, the vain style of dress.
Do you still have any thoughts on such a style?
small field. I still admire it.
Lastly, please tell us about any keywords that are currently on your mind in terms of fashion.
small field: I wonder, it's hard to say.... Hmmm, I guess it's a single layer.
You mean the eyelids?
small field. yes. . I want to say something funny when I speak on stage, so I collect stories. This story is one of those stories. In the West, there are only two eyes, right? . So the topic of whether they are single or double is meaningless. Japanese people often talk about whether they have a single or double face. . I found that interesting. Yesterday, I was looking it up. How do you say "double" in English? I wanted to say that I have a single-layered face. I want to call myself a single-layered face (laughs). That's something I'm interested in.
