SELECTOR 01

Hisaya Kanno / YSTRDY'S TMRRW Designer

The top batter is Hisaya Kanno, designer of "YSTRDY'S TMRRW," which made its debut in last year's fall/winter season. I am interested in down jackets and outerwear made of synthetic fibers. I like voluminous items with a generous body width.

(YSTRDY'S TMRRW) Down jacket ¥54,000+TAX (Beauty & Youth Shibuya Koen-dori Store)

The first one he mentioned was his own brand of down jacket. It is characterized by this impactful volume. We showed a long-length coat-type down jacket at the exhibition, but this is an arrangement for a limited edition store. I was very conscious of B-BOYs.

[PHIGVEL] Coat ¥92,000+TAX (prod.)

Next, he introduced "GOODMAN'S COAT" by "PHIGVEL. Mr. Kanno said, "Mr. Higashino, whom I have known for a long time, designs [FIGVEL]. This overcoat is a reconstruction of a sack coat from the early 20th century, made of an original gun club check tweed woven with British wool. It's an item that will make your spine stand up straight," he says. It makes me think that I need to wear something like this once in a while (laughs). I felt the attention to detail in the parts you can't see, such as the well-calculated sleeves and the functional inside pockets."

SELECTOR 02

Kosuke Kawamura / Collage Artist

I am interested in items that are chic but have a sense of playfulness in their fabrics, silhouettes, and functions," says collage artist Kosuke Kawamura, whose collaborations with United Arrows & Sons, adidas, and others are fresh in our minds.

[PHINGERIN] Coat ¥72,000+TAX (FINGERIN)

Kawamura says, "I fell in love at first sight at the exhibition," with the "UNION WINTER COAT" from "PHINGERIN. The comfortable nylon material, the leopard-print fur accent inside, and the detachable clear visor show the playful spirit that is typical of [FINGERIN]. The detail he likes best is the hem. The hem has snap buttons on both the front and back, so the leg openings are like rompers. This is difficult to do with a normal long coat, but I'm happy because I can ride my bicycle in this way," he told us.

(STONE ISLAND SHADOW PROJECT) Blouson ¥160,000+TAX (Stone Island)

Next, he introduced us to a piece of clothing that he said, "I was struck by its coolness, which is different from the in-line items. This is a bomber jacket from the "STONE ISLAND SHADOW PROJECT," a collaboration between "STONE ISLAND" and "ACRONYM®," led by Errolson Hugh. It is lightweight yet warm, and the nylon wool fabric is durable and stain resistant. I like the fact that it repels water if it rains a little, so I don't even need an umbrella.

SELECTOR 03

Masahiko Sakata / President, ARCHIVE & STYLE

Next, Mr. Masahiko Sakata, representative of "Archive & Style," gave us his recommendation. I try not to buy clothes based on intuition because I have so many similar items at home. However, as a result, I keep buying the same items every year...," says Mr. Sakata. As for what he is interested in this year, he thinks, "In the past few years, there have been many warm days even in winter, so I don't need too heavy outerwear.

TUBE × BEAMS PLUS hunting vest ¥23,500+TAX (BEAMS PLUS Harajuku)

The first item he recommended was a hunting vest from "TUBE" × "BEAMS PLUS. The fishing vests that are popular now sometimes look a bit childish, but I like the perfect balance of design in this vest," he said. It can also be used as an inner layer, so it can be coordinated with a wide range of outfits.

(TAKEO KIKUCHI) Riders' Jacket ¥150,000+TAX (World Press Information)

Next, he recommended this riders' jacket. Takeo Kikuchi, a pioneer in Japanese men's fashion, has specially ordered this jacket from James Grose, a long-established British brand. The mouton collar can be removed for convenience, and the leather is soft and light. I can't wear a heavy horsehide jacket anymore because my shoulders get stiff (laughs).

SELECTOR 04

Atsuto Tani / Director and Buyer, IMA:ZINE

The next selector was Atsuto Tani, director and buyer of the select store "IMA:ZINE" in Osaka, which opened two years ago this September and is going strong. He recommended two outfits that he says "short length, mouton, and outdoor wear with functional materials are in my mood right now. However, there was Tani's unique perspective.

999919〉×〈IMA:ZINE〉Mouton Hoodie price undecided (IMA:ZINE)

This is a special-order model to commemorate the first anniversary of Imagine. We created this jacket based on the theme of the design possibilities of outdoor brands," he says, "and designed it in an outdoor-like style using mouton. It has been sublimated into an overwhelmingly luxurious jacket. It is a faithful and gorgeous reproduction of a certain brand's out-of-print model. The original fleece portion has been replaced with mouton and the nylon portion with smooth leather."

Marmot〉×〈BEAMS〉 Coat ¥35,000+TAX (BEAMS Harajuku)

For the second item, he recommended the "Shower Mod Coat," a collaboration item between BEAMS and the outdoor brand Marmot. The lineup of outdoor items from BEAMS always surprises me," he said. It is true that you don't see many white mod coats.... When it comes to military wear, color is an important element for protection, and white is a novel choice. The use of "GORE-TEX® Pac-Lite" as the fabric is also a great touch. I feel the spirit of punk in the way they offered trend, functionality, and color to a leading outdoor brand.

SELECTOR 05

Masayuki Ino / doublet designer

This year, "doublet" won the Grand Prix at the LVMH Prize, a fashion award for up-and-coming brands. Masayuki Ino, the designer of doublet, is the next selector. Masayuki Ino, the designer of doublet, was the next selector. "I chose clothes that I would like to wear, not based on whether they look good on me or not, or whether I like them or not," he commented enthusiastically.

(doublet) Coat ¥68,000+tax (Studio Fabwork)

This coat by "doublet" was designed with the idea of "making a coat that even someone like me who doesn't wear coats very often would want to wear, so I thought, 'Why not make a shirt bigger and make it coat size? The outer fabric is bonded fleece, and the inside is quilted. The inside is quilted, and the coat is designed to keep out the cold. I also like the large buffalo check pattern that I originally created to match the oversized design.

(WILLY CHAVAWISM) Blouson ¥60,000+TAX (Wism Shibuya Store)

The second item he introduced was a collaboration between WISM, a select store that has established a good relationship with Dovelet, and WILLY CHAVARRIA. When I saw Mr. Horike, the director of WISM, on his Instagram, I couldn't help but think, 'I want to wear this! I saw the instagram of Mr. Horie, the director of "Wism", and I felt the desire to wear it. The point I like about this item is that it's ridiculously oversized but has action pleats on the back. It is a detail to make it easier to move the arms, but it is a realistic detail even though it is a size that has no tight parts. I wondered if it was necessary. I wondered if it was necessary, but I was attracted by the realistic details.

SELECTOR 06

Ryu Horike / Director, WISM

I am basically a blouson person, but this year I am interested in coats. I'm also interested in items with good colors, such as red, bordeaux, and burgundy. I'm in the mood for red, bordeaux, burgundy, etc." Ryu Ryu Horike, director of the store "WISM," who always fascinates us with a lineup that satisfies clothing lovers at his own pace, told us about the trends he is interested in.

〈HED MAYNER〉Peacoat ¥165,000+TAX (Wism Shibuya store)

At first glance, this item from HED MAYNER is just a pea coat, but it has been arranged in a surprisingly big size. When Mr. Horike found it at an exhibition, he thought, "Who would wear this? But when I tried it on, I realized that it had been calculated. But when I tried it on, I realized that it was a well-calculated design. Especially the pattern that pulls the garment back, you can tell the quality when you put it on. The details, such as the large collar and the masculine khaki color, are also points that allow you to wear it without getting tired of it."

(FRESH JIVE) Blouson ¥54,000+TAX (WISM Shibuya Store)

Next up was a blouson from "FRESH JIVE" that made you say, "I've missed this! The next entry was a blouson from "FRESH JIVE," which made us say, "I've missed this! Fresh Jive" started in 1989. This item is from the first season after the comeback of Rick Klotz, the founder of Fresh Jive. The nostalgia and the current atmosphere coexist well," says Horike. What I like about this item is the American-made duck fabric and the retro color scheme. Items with a whiff of surf and punk culture are different from the rest.

SELECTOR 07

Kentaro Higaki / Stylist

Mr. Higaki creates humorous fashion visuals with models who are full of individuality. When we asked him what he looks for when selecting outerwear, he replied, "A roomy enough outerwear that I can wear knitwear or sweatshirts on the inside. The ease of movement around the shoulders. Also, something that doesn't make you feel like a flirt or a dowdy person. We can sense Mr. Higaki's characteristic attention to detail, as he always wears loose-fitting clothes.

(NAPA by Martine Rose) Jacket ¥58,000+TAX (Massmatics)

The other day I went to the recycle store. There was something I was going to buy, but I didn't want to walk around with it, so the last thing I wanted to do was put it in my basket, but it was already gone. I'll hold on to it as soon as I want it. This fleece also feels like that, so I want to buy it on the spur of the moment," says Higaki about this jacket. The item he found at McMatix, a select store in Atsugi, Kanagawa, is a piece from NAPA by Martine Rose, a collaboration between Italy's NAPAPIRI and British designer Martine Rose, who is currently the center of attention. The rose design, somewhat reminiscent of camouflage, is impressive.

〈gourmet jeans〉Zip parka ¥65,000+TAX (reference price) (fridge Setagaya Central)

Last but not least is "gourmet jeans," for which Mr. Higaki creates seasonal visuals. Gourmet always makes funny things in a serious way. I often wear their clothes because they make clothes from an angle that other brands don't have. This yellow color is also...what is it? For some reason, it reminded me a little bit of the taste of fruit sauce. I want people to wear my clothes without worrying about the details. This nylon parka has a somewhat old-fashioned feel to it, and it looks great with a rough look, as if you can just pick it up and throw it on without thinking about anything else.
