SUEHIROTEI
Original goods of Shinjuku Suehirotei
My new hobby .
Recently, I have been addicted to going to Yose. A friend of mine took me to see a rakugo performance, and the stories told by up-and-coming rakugo artists are easy to understand and interpreted in a modern way, as if I were watching a comedy. At Yose, you can enjoy not only Rakugo, but also Kodan, Manzai, Kijutsu, Taikagura, and more. If you go now, I recommend Shinjuku Suehiro-tei. There are both chair seats and plank seats, and the rakugo is best enjoyed in an atmosphere filled with emotion. I chose the original goods of "Shinjuku Suehirotei" this time. The fan was painted by Bunji Katsura, who himself used the same fan in his later years. The woodblock-printed Senja-fuda (Senja-fuda, a type of paper used in the Edo period) still retains the fragrance of the ink. The tenugui (hand towel) with the Shinjuku Suehiro-tei crest and plaid pattern, and the yunomi (Japanese tea cup) with the Seven Deities of Good Luck made in Tajimi, Gifu, are also wonderful. If you are interested in these items, please visit the shop. You can also buy them online, but it is definitely more economical to buy them directly from the store.
Koza Sensu ¥1,500, Tenugui hand towel ¥700, Yunomi ¥700, Senja-fuda ¥2,000 (store price/all inTAX)
