PROFILE

A hip-hop unit consisting of rapper Toss and singer Ryo . Both of them lived abroad during their childhood, and their specialty is a bilingual style of music that mixes Japanese and English. Their songs have the universality of pop songs, while their pleasant melodies and lyrics with strong messages are addictive and captivate all who listen to them. Starting this October, they have announced three consecutive months of releases and live performances. The second release, "Train," will be released on November 6.

What was your impression when you tried on the special-order items from "Override"?

Ryo:I usually wear knit caps, and I was a little reluctant to wear berets and hunting caps because of the shape of my head, but this item was surprisingly comfortable to wear. . I liked the simplicity of the design. The way the hat looks when you look down is also good, and I hope to use it a lot from now on.

Toss:I don't usually wear hats very often, and sometimes I wear them when I'm off duty because I don't want to bother setting my hair up. Recently, I often wear a hunting cap, but this time I chose a cap. . I liked the shape of the brim, which is unique to baseball caps, and the form, which is more beautiful than it looks. And if you look closely, you can see that the logo design has been specially ordered!

What is the point of today's outfit?

Ryo:The key point of this outfit is the American mood I created by pairing a street-like vivid-colored coach jacket with a sweatshirt featuring an impressive college font. I also added wide-silhouette denim, which I usually wear, to give the outfit a chilled-out vibe, which is typical of me since I'm from Hawaii. I think this outfit with a hunting cap would look great at a live concert," he says.

Toss:I try to dress in a way that doesn't look like a B-Boy. I like oversized clothes and street style, but I prefer casual styling that looks ordinary at first glance. I also incorporated seasonal materials with warm-colored cardigans and corduroy pants to create a seasonal atmosphere. A simple baseball cap works well as an accent in such a coordinated look.

What was your first encounter with music?

Ryo:We were classmates in high school, and one of the seniors at the school, who was a good friend of mine at the time, asked me out of the blue to sing or organize a music event. . I had never been involved in any musical activities before. Surprisingly, the response I got was very positive, and that's how I ended up here. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail (laughs), but that's pretty much how it went.

Toss:I'm almost the same way ( lol ). We both lived in Hawaii when we were young, Ryo in Hawaii and I in London, so I guess the fact that we were exposed to cultures and music that we wouldn't have been exposed to in Japan is one of the reasons why we continue to play together. We use English and Japanese, so some parts are difficult to convey, but the part of conveying what we want to say is the same as it was back then".

What are your future plans?

Ryo:We are in the middle of three consecutive months of releases, and we have a lot of live appearances coming up, so we want to make sure we accomplish what is in front of us," he said.

Toss:We want to continue to produce quality work while keeping our own hip-hop mindset so that more people than ever will know who we are," he said.
