The power of wearing what you love! How to incorporate Star Wars custom ordered shirts into everyday wear.

Finally, the final film, "Star Wars: Dawn of the Skywalkers," will be released simultaneously worldwide on Friday, December 20. Many of you may have marked this date on your calendars. To celebrate the film's release, an online service titled "STAR WARS CUSTOM COLLECTION by ORIGINAL STITCH" will be launched on Friday, December 13. This service allows customers to order shirts of their choice online using fabrics patterned after "Star Wars" characters. Mr. Shinji Moriyama of "District United Arrows," who is known as a Star Wars expert in the fashion industry, made three shirts through this service. Mr. Moriyama said, "I've seen many T-shirts, but never shirts, so I'm very happy. Mr. Moriyama, who calls himself a "Jedi," used the "Force" (?) to order the shirts. What kind of shirt did he order?

I enjoy the time I spend thinking about the various patterns I like to choose.

. I had shirts made from a total of 31 different patterns, and this time, I chose three of them.

Moriyama:I selected patterns that are not deformed or comical. Star Wars was my first introduction to American comics. Unlike Japanese manga, American comics are more realistic. That's why the depiction of mecha is so realistic, and that tickled my childish curiosity.

Also, as I mentioned earlier about the toys, I knew I had to choose a droid or creature.

Mr. Moriyama is wearing the leftmost pattern, Admiral Ackbar, which has a great impact.
It pops with an American comic book style pattern depicting villains such as Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt.
. The graphic on the right shows R2-D2 and C-3PO looking very cute together.

The first step in this service is to select two types of bodies, "casual" and "dress," with a choice of "regular" or "button-down" collars. Then you choose which fabrics will be used for the collar, pockets, cuffs, and body, and to my surprise, Mr. Moriyama made all three shirts with all-over patterns.

Moriyama:It is the same as an aloha shirt. However, I myself am not very good at wearing aloha shirts as they are. I have always thought, "It would be nice to have long sleeves," or "It would be nice to have a shirt with a waist collar instead of an open collar," and these feelings were expressed in this shirt. . This shirt originally has long sleeves, so I thought, "Why not use a button-down collar?

Moriyama:Of course the overall pattern would stand out, but if you wear a knit or a jacket over it like this, the amount of visible pattern would be reduced, and I thought it would be interesting to "look closely and see that it is a Star Wars pattern".

How do you like the finished product?

Moriyama:That is amazingly well done. I really wanted a shirt like this , I wish there were more fabrics with bold patterns like the one I'm wearing now, the Admiral Ackbar pattern. I wish there were more fabrics with bold patterns like the one I'm wearing now with the Admiral Ackbar pattern. Personally, I prefer patterns that have more impact than detailed patterns.

Also, the pattern this time is all made up of characters from episodes 4 through 6. At that time, there was no computer graphics, so all the films were made using live-action. When I remember that, I think of the analog sense that can be seen and felt in these patterns, and I thought it was a great match.

I think that a full-patterned shirt requires an advanced technique to coordinate, but what do you think should be done to make it easier to enjoy?

Moriyama:There is such a thing as putting a pattern on only parts of the garment. . like only the collar, or only the pockets or cuffs. If the pattern is only partially visible, I think it can be easily incorporated into fashion. On the other hand, it is also possible to have only the collar and cuffs be plain and the body have a pattern. I think the key is how to insert a solid color. I don't think of it as fashion, but rather as something I wear because I really like it (laughs).

How do you incorporate the fashionable style into your clothes?

Moriyama:I think it is effective to reduce the visible area of the pattern as I do. Shirts are often worn with something on top. Even if you choose a shirt with a full pattern, as I did, you can wear it casually by limiting the area where the pattern is visible. It is similar to wearing a checked shirt or a striped shirt.

To match the orange color of Admiral Ackbar, Moriyama matched his jacket and pants with a brown color scheme. By adopting a bold pattern, "the character is only partially visible, so it is less assertive and easier to incorporate," he said.

Moriyama:Then there is the color matching. Do you pick up the colors used in the pattern of the shirt and combine them with similar colors, or do you choose fabrics based on your favorite colors when you order the shirt? I think it's good to keep those things in mind. However, I think that Star Wars enthusiasts would choose a character that they have an emotional attachment to... (laughs). Well, even if you make it with that, I think you can wear it well by analyzing the colors of the pattern.

The ordered shirts are delivered in this box.

. Lastly, please tell us again what you have gained, realized, or felt through this service.

Moriyama:As I mentioned earlier, as a fan, I am happy to be able to wear the shirts; it is great to have something other than T-shirts and sweatshirts to wear. . I also enjoyed the time I spent choosing my favorite patterns and thinking about them. If I may say so, I hope that in the future there will be more items with various variations, such as suits and G-jans, and not just shirts (laughs).
