Style Sample Wearing MAISON SPECIAL

Maison specials for rough wear and set-ups for off-duty wear.

Today, we can hear the faint sound of spring. Since this is the season for simplicity and simplicity only, we would like to change the mood and try a set-up. However, I don't want to go for a formal style, but rather a rough, free, and light style, just like the shirts and blousons I usually wear. Maison Special, an up-and-coming brand that just debuted in 2007, offers a lineup of high-quality, sophisticated items that easily grasp the current trends. For this issue, we asked six of the city's favorite style setters to try on these new set-ups. Why don't you take a look at the coordinates that reflect the individual personalities of each of them?

PROFILE

Young stylist who became independent from stylist Akiyoshi Morita in 2018. He is active in men's fashion magazines as well as brand catalogs, looks, and advertising projects. He has a deep insight into fashion, from vintage clothing to the trends of maison brands, and is known for his styling that skillfully incorporates trends.

What did you think of the design of the "Maison Special" set-up that you were asked to wear this time?

The smoky color is to my liking, and the size is comfortable and easy to wear. The design looks simple at first glance, but the silhouette, fabric, and fine details are very particular and stylish.

What were you conscious of when dressing for the occasion?

The long dress shirt is layered over the jacket to create an uncomfortable vertical balance. The front of the jacket looks good whether it is open or closed, and it also looks stylish. I also added volume to the layered sleeves and accentuated the key ring around the neck, in my own subtle way.

What kind of impression do you have of set-up items?

I don't usually have the opportunity to wear suits and set-ups, but when I did, I found that I could try different ways of wearing them, enjoy the fun of wearing them differently, and feel more comfortable. I would like to increase the opportunities to wear them a little bit more from now on."

What kind of occasion would you like to wear it?

For business occasions such as meetings and business negotiations, it would be nice to wear it with a shirt, but for town use, I would like to downplay the casual look by layering it with a T-shirt or a patterned shirt. It is rare to find a set-up that can be worn both on and off the job, so I want to have at least one.

This dry-touch woolen jacket, reminiscent of tropical fabrics, also encourages a moody atmosphere. It is highly breathable, and its smoky coloring will be useful during the spring and summer seasons. The slacks of the same fabric also have a beautiful silhouette with a three-point fastening with hooks, front buttons, and tongs to prevent the garment from falling out of place. In addition, the marbelt gives them an even more dressy finish. Each has an easy-care specification that can also be hand-washed.
