Back to the 80's.

The times and people connected by First Down.
Vol.2 miu

First Down" was born in New York in 1983, and supported the rise of music and street culture in the U.S. in the 80's. Icons such as Michael Jackson and the Notorious B.I.G. wore the "First Down" mountain-shaped logo on their chests. Today, the fashion and music of the 80's revival is attracting attention from the younger generation. So what was the appeal of the 80s? In this second installment of our four-part Series, we asked model miu, who has a strong affinity with street brands and culture, to try on some First Down clothing and to talk about the clothes and culture while enjoying a fishing trip.

New York, Tokyo, and Shiga .

. Unfortunately, the weather was not good for fishing today, and you didn't catch anything, did you?

MIU: Too bad. . I had a bite, but only the bait was taken. I am from Shiga Prefecture, where Lake Biwa is located, and I used to do a lot of fishing in my hometown, but I never did it in Tokyo, so it was fresh and fun.

First Down was born in New York in the 80's. Have you ever been to New York?

MIU: I don't have any. I would like to go, but .

What do you think of the image?

MIU: Is it the image ...... , hmm, urban (laughs). Like Tokyo, I guess the streets look totally different from last year to this year.

How do you like the city of Tokyo?

MIU: When I came to Tokyo, I started liking to go for walks, partly because I don't like to take the train. I also walk my dog , and I like to walk in a city I don't know. Walking refreshes me and serves as a kind of meditation.

What is your favorite place to go for a walk these days?

MIU: . I don't want to tell you because it would be a waste of time (laughs). I'm in Setagaya Ward, and there was a park where you could see a beautiful sunset. I don't know the name of the place because I didn't point it out on a map or anything.

I was impressed by the way you were looking at various things during your travels. You are good at finding nature even in Tokyo, aren't you?

MIU: I like to look at the scenery a great deal. . I like nature, or rather, I have come to like it.... . I don't see Tokyo as a place where I will live forever until I die. . I think I will go back to Shiga after I finish my work. Recently, I often think that people from rural areas have many choices of places to live. . Because of my hometown, I can stay in Tokyo and have a place to return to.
