Dunhill's image is that of a gateway to success for the master gentleman!

What kind of image do you two have of "Dunhill"?

Westfield:Isn't "Dunhill" a British brand? When I worked at Brooks Brothers, I saw the silhouettes of Dunhill's suits as an American brand, although it was not a competitor. You also did runway shows, didn't you?

Nishimata:You are doing it. I have an image of dressy, masculine styling with leather items, which is your specialty on the runway.

Westfield:Indeed, leather items are impressive. Originally, lighters and pipes were the same, but with the popularization of cars, there is an aspect of proposing goggles and leather gloves that gained popularity, so small items seem to be particular about them.

Nishimata:The design is authentic, but sharp, and has a strong impression of "the dandyism".

Westfield:My father is not interested in fashion at all, but when he wanted a clutch bag, the first brand that came to mind was "Dunhill.

Nishimata:The generation may be a little older. But the fact that the name "Dunhill" is mentioned there is evidence of recognition.

Do you guys check the trends of luxury brands?

Nishimata:I don't follow trends, but I do check out womenswear instead of menswear. This is purely for studying women's styling (laughs).

Westfield:I am not one to check the collections, but when the creative director or designer changes, I sometimes do. However, as a creator of clothes, if I see a runway show or a collection, it inevitably remains in the corner of my mind. ...... To be honest, I really try not to look at them.

Nishimata:I'm sure I'll remember it when I'm designing (laughs). (Laughs.) Colors and such may be helpful, though.

Westfield:In my previous job, I used to observe collections with people in the company. It was not about the design or the clothes, but about the creation and the tricks.

Nishimata:Dunhill not only sells clothes, but also has a "dunhill BAR" with a stylish bar counter on the 2nd floor of the main Ginza store, and a lounge on the 3rd floor. I haven't been able to sneak in yet, though, because it seems a bit intimidating (laughs).

Westfield:I know there is also a "dunhill BARBER" on the 2nd floor that does cuts and grooming. I would like to have my beard trimmed, so I would like to try it out. The Ginza store looks hot when I think about it.

Nishimata:A gentleman is well suited to master a part of the world like .......

You two seem to be able to look at "Dunhill" in a good way, in a flat way.

Westfield:It sounds very positive, but I think it really is (laughs).

Nishimata:I have done a lot of research, but it was shallow (laughs).
