You already had a front cover of the same series, didn't you?
Ocataoka:The car was delivered in November 2020, and since it was a used car, the seats were torn at the seams from the beginning. I was wondering what to do with them, so I looked around and found a cover by Gordon Miller that looked really good. So I bought one at the end of last year.
How do you feel about using it?
Ocataoka:I haven't had a chance to test it yet for things like water resistance or sturdiness, but I really like the color.
Do you usually leave your bicycle in the cargo area?
Ocataoka:When I go out by car, I load it up just in case. Parking in Tokyo is expensive. And when I look for a cheap place to park, sometimes it is too far away from my destination. In such cases, I sometimes ride a bicycle from the parking lot to the destination.
It's true that if you carry a folding bicycle, you can turn around on a small scale wherever you go.
Ocataoka:That's right. Also, if you put a luggage sheet down, you can put the tires on it without worrying if they get dirty.
I see that you have customized the body of the car in various ways.
Ocataoka:I also have a magnet made by Taku Akihiro of Akihiro Woodworks, stickers, and a grill badge on the front of my car. My wife says, "Why do you wear these things?
In a sense, the car itself is a canvas. I would like to see you try to illustrate the Gordon Miller seat itself someday.
Ocataoka:Talking about car products, we are currently producing carved wooden air fresheners, T-shirts, stickers, etc. with our friends in Kagoshima. In the future, we are thinking of making our own handmade car products.
