Blundstone was founded more than 150 years ago on the Australian island of Tasmania. The shoes favored by workers and outdoorsmen in harsh natural environments are now accepted as a fashion item in the city. This may be because of their easy-to-match designs and variations that allow you to project your own personality. For this issue, we asked five people active in various fields to wear shoes of different designs. Some had been wearing the shoes for some time, while others were wearing them for the first time. We asked them to speak frankly about the appeal of "Brand Stone" from their personal perspectives.

Guitarist and vocalist of the three-piece band Sheep Literature, formed in 2012, he made his debut in 2017 with the EP "After the Tunnel" and made his major label debut in 2020 with the album "POWERS". He has also developed a solo career, performing songs and performances that differ from those of the band. He also has a wide range of activities outside of music, such as modeling and appearing in TV dramas. In September this year, he will hold the "YOJI Bungaku Tour 2021 "Hidden Place"" in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo.

You said that this is your first time wearing "Brand Stone," how do you feel when you put your feet through them?

I usually wear sneakers, but these boots are also light and easy to wear. I like to go for walks, so I sometimes walk for about two hours, and these look good for such occasions. I heard that they are water-resistant, so I could wear them on rainy day walks, and I felt like I could wear them elegantly, not as rough as sneakers.

How do you usually wear different types of shoes?

When I dress up, I wear leather pumps or boots. When I am in a band, I move around with my guitar, so I tend to wear sneakers that are easy to move around in. Whenever I go on stage, I always wear a certain pair of black sneakers. The width is narrower and it is easy to step on the effector.

I heard that Iggy Pop and Courtney Barnett wore "Brandstone" boots on stage.

I see! They certainly look good to wear during a live performance. The sole is not too wide, and they are lightweight, so they might be easy to move around in. They can be worn in a snap, so they're perfect for when you're in a hurry before a live show or something (laughs).

Do you like aged leather?

I wear blouses and sweaters that I got from my mother, and I love old clothes. Also, the paint peels off my guitar when I bump it a little. When I hit it, I am shocked, but when I look at it later, I feel as if it represents the time I have spent with it, and I become even more attached to it. I like the look of the boots after they have been used for a long time. I am looking forward to seeing these boots carve out memories like that.

What is the point of today's coordination?

I love one-piece dresses, and I recently purchased the dress I'm wearing today from Belper. The bright green color and dress-like silhouette are cute, and I love it because it feels like spring. I think I could wear it when I sing. It's the first time I've coordinated it with these boots, and I think they go well together.

What other ways do you like to dress?

I like both girly clothes with frills and casual coordinates like a parka and denim. BrandStone" seems to go well with both styles.
