Born in Aomori in 1978. After moving to Tokyo, he formed the comedy duo "Sisonne" with his partner Shinobu Hasegawa in 2006, appearing on variety shows, commercials, and radio. He is also active as an actor, appearing in movies, dramas, and on stage.

Jiro, do you like clothes too?
Jiro:Before I became a comedian, I used to look at fashion magazines every month and buy a lot of clothes. But once I became a comedian, money was tight, so I stopped spending money on clothes at the beginning.
What kind of fashion did you like at the time?
Jiro:When I was in my teens and twenties, I used to wear a lot of backwoods brands.
I see that striped cut-and-sewns have become an icon these days.
Jiro:When I left college, a friend gave me a border shirt from St. James. He said it would last a long time. So I started wearing it, and it was really durable. There were many colors to choose from, so when I became a comedian, I wore them as stage costumes. So I started wearing more and more shirts, and then I decided that I was done with the border shirts (laughs).
It's a kind of characterization.
Jiro:Yes, I do. Almost every day, like what color should I wear. But lately, people notice when I wear it. So the frequency has decreased.
We asked you to wear a Descente Posse coat this time. What is your image of Descente?
Jiro:I think my parents had ski clothes at home. I am from Aomori, so skiing is very familiar to me, and we even had it in class. So I used to wear it a lot.
Descente Pose is designed to incorporate technology cultivated in the field of sports into everyday life. How did you feel when you tried it on?
Jiro:It was very easy to move around. I usually ride my motorcycle, and I am happy to use GORE-TEX because it repels rain. So it fits in with my daily life. I'm not sure if I can use it that way, though (laughs).
I also prefer colors. My mother liked khaki and other such colors, so she used to make me wear them a lot when I was little. Perhaps because of that, I naturally picked up these earthy colors. I feel more at home with natural color schemes than with flashy ones.
I would like to know more about your daily life.
Jiro:I don't know if this is the right thing to say in an article for Descente Pose, but I lead a depraved life outside of work (laughs).
