Learn how to get started in golf with Golf 5.

People are turning their attention outside, and liberating outdoor sports are attracting attention these days. Many people are taking up golf for the first time. In the midst of all this, "Golf 5 for beginners only" was opened at Shinjuku Flags at the end of August, creating an environment where even beginners can easily start playing golf. In this issue, we welcome Yuuki Mihara, a TV personality with seven years of golf experience, as our navigator, and he takes us on a tour of the store with "that guy" who walks on two legs and says he has recently become interested in golf. We also asked Mr. "Golf5" to answer some questions that beginners may not be able to ask themselves.

Mihara-san, what do you find attractive about golf?

Mihara:Swing as hard as you can and hit a white ball against the blue sky. I have played many sports, but this exhilarating feeling is unique, and the location is liberating and very pleasant. And since the golf course is surrounded by nature, it feels like a trip, and since I can slowly make my way around the course while talking with my friends, it is less physically demanding. Besides, the game is basically a competition to see how many shots you can make around the course in the fewest number of strokes, so you can learn the rules quickly.

I think it's a lot of work until you get good at it, but is it enjoyable even for beginners?

Mihara:Yes, I am interested in the game. I also like the fact that there is a system where everyone can enjoy the game equally because they are given a handicap according to their level. So.Beginners and advanced players, regardless of gender, body size, age, or position, all can enjoy themselves in a friendly atmosphere, shoulder to shoulder.This is also a feeling not found in other sports.

I have gradually started to participate in competitions, and one of the things I enjoy is to go around as a team with people I have never met before or with people from different professions, and talk with them in a way that I normally would not be able to. I think that is why golf is called a social gathering for adults.
