It has been loved not only in the tennis scene but also in daily use for more than 30 years. In this issue, the three members of D.A.N. talk about the appeal of the shoes, and also engage in a relaxed fashion talk. Reebok Classic is proud to present a masterpiece model of court shoes.

Let's start with the story you need to know about the Club C. The sneaker, which Kendrick Lamar describes as "clean, simple, and worth more than its design," was born in 1985.

Designed as court shoes exclusively for tennis, they supported athletes on the court with their high fitting and excellent grip (the "C" in "Club C" stands for Champion, and "Club Champion" was its nickname). ). On the other hand, as you can see, the minimalist, stylish, or "classic" design has been loved on the streets of the world. And that is still the case 30 years later.

The "just-right" court shoe is making a comeback.

First of all, please tell us frankly how you feel when you wear "Club C".

upstreamI liked it. They were smart, simple, and easy to wear. I rather like these low-tech type sneakers.

market (e.g. river)It's smart and has a classic image from the past. It's easy to move around in and seems to go with everything. I think it will go with the clothes I usually wear.

cherry treeI like the "just right" feel of the old tennis shoes (laughs). I like the "just right" feel of the old tennis shoes (laughs). (Laughs) I have the impression that not only Reebok Classic, but also other court shoes like these are experiencing a resurgence. I think the design is just right.

market (e.g. river)I've seen them in thrift stores and other places.

What kind of sneakers have you chosen so far?

cherry treeI used to play soccer, so I started with spikes.

upstreamI know: you were wearing treshoes.

cherry treeI started wearing shoes like tres shoes and spikes, and I started to like shoes more and more. I also became interested in design, and I became more selective in my clothing as well. I knew that simple and easy-to-wear shoes were a prerequisite, and then there were things like functionality and color.

upstreamI am basically the same way. If there is some interesting element to it. I don't know what kind of things. I don't know what it is, but I can't help but wonder why this place is the way it is, or why the brand has such a name, or why I've never seen such a color before. or "I've never seen such a color before.

market (e.g. river)I like the shape, the texture, etc. I think I like the dirty ones. I like the dirty ones. I like the way they get dirtier and dirtier as you wear them.

I like the "this is all I have" feeling of vintage clothing.

Where do you buy your clothes?

market (e.g. river)I'd like to talk about some of the restaurants that we all have in common. Like "came unto me" in Shibuya.

upstreamI think we have a lot of overlap with "FILM" and "hickory" in Shimokitazawa, and "TRAMPOT" in Yutenji.

cherry treeI buy second-hand clothes at stores around here.

Why do you like vintage clothing?

cherry treeI was in the vintage clothing business when I realized it (laughs).

upstreamI started with the cheapest price. Then, I think I just go for "this is the only one I can find. There are a lot of new clothes out there, but secondhand clothes are like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I also like the texture.

How did you like today's coordination?

market (e.g. river)It was fresh!

cherry treeI usually wear gray, black, and other subdued colors, so it was a challenge.

For example, are you conscious of "fashion" on stage?

cherry treeI think it's an extension of what I normally wear, but I feel a little toughened up. When I feel like wearing such a tight outfit, I choose something like that. There are times when I want to be loose. But basically, I prefer simple clothes.

upstreamI don't have much. As long as the clothes are comfortable. I'm just going to perform on stage, not to dress up.

market (e.g. river)I like the set-up. I like setups.

upstreamNo, I'm not talking to Jinya (Ichikawa) (laughs).

market (e.g. river)I guess I simply admire them. My favorite New York jazz musicians from the 70's wore suits and such in a very natural way. We are not jazz musicians, but I think it is cool that they wear jackets and play in a natural way. At first, I was a little embarrassed to wear a set-up (laughs). (Laughs) But I tried my best to wear it, and I hope it will become a natural fit for me. And wearing sneakers on your feet is cool, too.

Are there any items that are essential to your style?

upstreamI don't have any other shoes but sneakers. I don't have any shoes other than sneakers. Maybe a hat or something, because it's easy.

cherry treeI'm not sure what to say about my fashion obsession. It's a bit presumptuous of me to say that I am particular about fashion. If you like sneakers, you also pay attention to socks. I feel like I want to choose socks that have a good balance. Basically, I like white ones, but I also like the red ones that my grandmother gave me (laughs).

market (e.g. river)Daigo: Daigo certainly has a lot of socks, red or yellow, don't you?

cherry treeVivid. I also like pants that show a little of my ankles.

market (e.g. river)Like a 9.5 minute length. You can really see a glimpse of socks.

Are you sometimes aware of things like "fads"?

cherry treeI have a sense of what's popular when I see it on the street. Whether or not I reflect this to myself is another matter. When I am in that kind of mood, the world may be in that kind of mood, too.

upstreamI think that if you live a life like this, it will come in on its own. It's inside of you.

market (e.g. river): In the cold season, it's like whether coats are in fashion or down is in fashion.

But I guess we all share the same thing about vintage clothing.

upstreamI think so. New ones are good, but they are expensive. The ones that are in good shape are expensive.

cherry treeI don't know much about brands and stuff like that. People often say things like, "This season's SS is.... I was like, "What the heck is SS? I really didn't understand the meaning of "2017SS" at first.

upstreamI'm not sure if it's AW or something else at Autumn Winter (laughs).

market (e.g. river)I didn't get it at first either.

cherry treeI was like, "AW is a brand name? (laughs). (laughs) But in the first half of my college years, I was really eccentric and wondered what "mode" was! What the heck is mode? I was really anti-mode (laughs). (laughs). These days, I think it's just cool and amazing.

I feel sympathy for the awareness of "good regardless of time.

Sneakers" have a deep connection with culture, don't they?

cherry treeI think hip-hop is the most connected to the music. I think we are most connected to hip-hop. Kendrick Lamar is a Reebok Classic brand, isn't he? I simply thought it was cool to see that.

What is the link between D.A.N. and Reebok Classic?

cherry treeI think it's the "classic" part. I feel sympathy for the sense of timelessness. But that doesn't mean I'm bored. Personally, I also like the simple British feel.

upstreamI like that it's a major brand, of course, but it's also a bit more of a step back than the high street.

cherry treeI think it's a good thing that they have a strong presence there.

market (e.g. river)The design is not too smart, not too streetwise, not too in-your-face.

upstreamI think it's like, "But normally I don't want to do that.

cherry treeWe are happy to be involved with Reebok Classic in this way. I'm very grateful. I think I'll be wearing "Club C" a lot from now on!
