SAMPLE 1. Yusuke Oshiba, Aoi

PROFILE

Yusuke Oshiba, a model, actor, and band member, and his 11-year-old son, Aoyori, have many different faces. Under the influence of Mr. Oshiba, Aoyori started skateboarding a year ago. Recently, he sometimes goes to the park with his friends from elementary school.
Instagram:@tillssdd

Mr. Oshiba is known for his street style. Your styling today is just like that image.

Oshiba:Anyway, I am usually overwhelmingly blue in terms of color. I have always been blue since I was young. That's why I chose blue today.

What is the image of "Gap" from your point of view?

Oshiba:To be honest, I wondered if "Gap" would fit in with the culture I grew up with, but when I visited the store for the first time in a while for this project, it was better than I had imagined. I was surprised to find that simple and universal items are also standard items.

The down vest is also impressive.

Oshiba:I never used to wear down jackets. I thought it was an escape from fashion. If I wanted to be warm, I thought I had to wear something heavy, like a horsehide leather jacket. But in recent years, vests have been my boom, and when I tried one on, it didn't feel like a down jacket. I like the vest feeling. I learned a lot from this project (laughs). I always wear oversized pants. This one is also 34 inches. I like to wear slim tapered pants in oversize.

I heard that Mr. Oshiba chose Aoyori's outfit, too? Do you usually dress like this?

Oshiba:He is not that colorful, but he seems to have his own style. Also, I think he is influenced by his parents, but he likes the color blue the best. It's in his name.

Aoyori's style is also quite striking, with his hair dyed blue.

Ao Yori:I didn't do it. I didn't even do my hair.

Oshiba:My wife is a hair and makeup artist, so she wants to do that kind of thing.

How does it feel to wear it, Aoyi-kun?

Ao Yori:Nice feeling.

Oshiba:I went to school with it the next day. I love it.

When did you start skateboarding?

Oshiba:I started skating about a year ago. I had to take care of my kids, but I wanted to skate, so we went to a skate park together.

You have a good parent-child relationship. It's almost like they are friends.

Oshiba:Aoyori probably doesn't think of me as a parent (laughs). (Laughs.) I'm just a nagging senior.

What is the image of the "Gap"?

How about you, Ryohei?

Ryohei:If I had to describe it in an image, I would say it is "The American everyday wear. I think it is one of the brands that symbolize America. Recently, you have been involved in campaigns with Kanye West and others, and you are also working on new things.

Today, everyone is styled in red.

Natalie:I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up with red. I often wear red in everyday life. In my image, it is as if I went outside in my loungewear.

Ryohei:I usually wear the same style as usual. I often wear a G-jacket over a sweatshirt.

Theo is cute too!

Natalie:Lately, he has developed some preferences, and I sometimes have a hard time getting him dressed in the morning. He tends to pick out things that make a mess, which seems to be fine with him, and I sometimes send him to daycare wondering if it will be okay (laughs).

How do you feel when you try it on?

Ryohei:It is warmer than it looks. It is also relaxing and has a nice shape.

Natalie:Sweatshirts are comfortable and warm. When it's too much trouble to think, I often wear a sweatshirt top and bottom.

Do you have any memories of Mickey?

Natalie:It's a little difficult (laughs). But I used to buy Mickey stuff in vintage clothing. Mickey T-shirts of the foreign souvenir type. This item also has a somewhat vintage feel, doesn't it?

Lastly, is there anything you would like to see Theo become in the future, or any other expectations you have for him?

KASUMI: You usually have an image of denim.

KASUMI:In fact, I wear a lot of denim. I don't wear denim jackets very often. Gap denim is very comfortable to wear.

I see that you chose a large jacket.

KASUMI:Actually, this is a men's size. But I could wear it at all, and the silhouette was beautiful, so I chose it.

Do you remember your first contact with The Gap?

KASUMI:I think it was when I saw my relative's sister wearing a Gap sweatshirt. I thought it was really stylish. I was like, "What is GAP? (laughs). I am from Akita, but there were no Gap stores in Akita at the time.

What do you think of the recent Gap?

KASUMI:Lately I've been looking at children's clothes, but I think it's the "bears" (laughs). (Laughs.) The tights with the bear on the bottom are really cute. I can't wear them to daycare, though.

Instagram:@ryotayamada______ / @hoppe.changs

Please tell us about the items you selected for this project.

Ryota:The size of the down was large and made a big impact, so I went with darker, or rather, hazy tones for the rest. This down may look like an XL, but it is a L.

Akizumi and Shizuka were both very well matched.

Ryota:I know I sound like a silly parent, but the clothes look really good on them (laughs). (Laughs.) So I enjoy picking out clothes for my children.

What kind of image of "gap" do you think Ryota-san has?

Ryota:It's a strong image for advertising visuals. It is so iconic that I use it as a reference in my work. If you have all the models wear denim and shoot with a white background, it looks like "Gap" (laughs).

Did you go through the Gap, Ryota?

Ryota:When I was a teenager, I used to buy a lot of Old Gap with lower-case logos. I also had a lot of pocket T's. Recently, there are many variations of children's clothing, so I have many chances to go look at them.

Akizumi is also very energetic.

Ryota:Right now, I let her wear what she likes, but I am sure that in a little while, she will come to have her own preferences. I also have her go to the same hair salon as I do, and she gets her hair done the same way, but I wonder if she will eventually grow tired of that too (laughs). (Laughs.) There have always been children with pigtails. But around the third grade of elementary school, they started to feel that their hair style was not right, and they started to wear their hair in a normal way. I think that Akisumi may soon outgrow this look and hairstyle (laugh).

Cute little girl, too.

Kotoha:These days, I already tend to dress them in clothes that are easy to move around in. And maybe something with a lot of color.

How do you feel when you actually wear it?

Shun:The dough is very sticky.

Kotoha:Yes, it's really comfortable. I like that it's lined and warm.

Have you always worn Gap clothing?

Kotoha:You wore pullovers and zip hoodies. I also had a lot of innerwear. I also had a classic logo tote bag that I still use today.

Shun:To be honest, I haven't been going to the store that much, but it was in a shopping mall near my parents' house and I saw my father wearing it, so it has always been close to me.

I thought the "Sen" in "Sen-chan" was as expected of two fashion people.

Shun:My daughter's name has two letters, and I had decided long ago that I wanted the second letter to be "N".

Kotoha:From there, I started to apply the Japanese syllabaries, such as "an," "in," and "un" (laughs).

Shun:The remaining ones were "ten," "men," and "sen. My father's name is Sen Hiroshi, so I was going to go with "Sen," but when I put it together with Hidaka, my family name, it was too simple, so I went with "Sen.

Kotoha:I was actually embarrassed to be associated with my profession, but I put that aside and decided on "Sen" because I liked the lettering.

Do you have any ideas about how you would like Cinnabar to grow up?

Kotoha:In any case, I want them to grow up freely. I want them to be able to trust their own rules and what they like without being influenced by others.

What kind of brand is "Gap" to you?

Ryohei:It is like a gateway to success in American casual wear.

You also buy vintage clothing. Is the Old Gap still going strong?

Ryohei:The prices are getting higher. Especially those with larger silhouettes are responding well. Also, there are gorgeous embroideries and gimmicks that don't match the price. So they tend to be lumped in with other affordable brands, but they are distinct from them.

What are the key points of coordination?

Ryohei:I usually like to use one tone as much as possible. So I went with that approach this time as well. I am also very conscious of the color and texture of materials.

Both of you are wearing the same pants. Despite the great height difference between you.

I would like to know how to put the hem of the pants in the socks.

Ryohei:I don't think it's necessary to put in the entire pair, just a little bit in the front. As long as you keep walking, the weight of the pants will give you a nice silhouette.
