What has this year been like for you?

I have had a very meaningful year working in a wide variety of genres, including variety, modeling, acting, and even being given a special opportunity to be a personality on "All Night Nippon 0," which I have longed to do.

Was YouTube an area you had wanted to try for a long time?

I am of the YouTube generation and have been watching Hikakin since around the time of his breakthrough, and have wanted to have my own channel since I was in junior high school.

It's been about a year and a half since you started the channel.

Anyway, I enjoy being able to challenge myself in various ways. I think the charm of YouTube is that I was able to express things that are far removed from the public image of "Hikaru Takahashi" that everyone has of me. I received many comments like, "I didn't know you had this side to you," and I am glad that people have learned about it.

Looking back on this year, are there any videos on your channel that stand out in your mind?

I have a personal attachment to the interview with DJ Matsunaga of Creepy Nuts. Actually, I shot this YouTube clip after we had a conversation during another interview, and after that we had a lot of chit-chat. As you can see, it was machine gun talk (laughs). (Laughs.) But we still had a lot to talk about, so this was a memorable episode for me, including my regrets. The response from the audience was very strong.

You have tried many things on your channel, from radio and games to mini 4WD, Gunpla, fishing, Bonsai, etc. What are some of your most memorable challenges?

I have always wanted to make ...... Gundam plastic models, and I have always liked miniature hoods and dioramas, so it was fun to try. I wanted to master Gunpla and mini 4WD even more, to the point where I could make magical modifications to them (laughs). But it took about 9 hours to shoot this video, so I don't know how many hours it would take if I had to paint and polish it (laughs).
