CASE3_MINE MURA Mei "Dear All" owner-barista

Mr. Minemura runs a coffee shop with a childhood friend in Sasazuka, an area not far from the town where he grew up. The store uses carefully selected roasted beans and is characterized not only by its authentic taste, but also by its cozy space that reflects the duo's desire to create a place where people can drop by without any particular purpose. Mr. Minemura, the young barista who runs this locally loved store, is a genuine city boy. Ever since he was a child, he has always used a bicycle as his means of transportation.

. "Since my first encounter with BMX when I was in elementary school, I have been riding a pisto bike exclusively these days because of its practicality for city riding, but I don't think there has been a time when I haven't ridden a bicycle. Perhaps it was because I was born in Shinjuku, but it was easier and felt better to ride a bicycle than to take the train. I usually use it for commuting to work, and on my days off, I also do research while riding my bicycle to visit coffee shops, restaurants, and general stores that interest me. . I have always loved riding my bicycle and exploring the city. Right now I am just considering buying a new bicycle, and I am having it put together at a store called "Blue Rag," which I have been a customer of for a long time. . Like bicycles, I am attracted to bags like "Timbuktu" that can be customized and made to my specifications. If I can create my ideal bag or bicycle, I will be able to love it longer than if it were a ready-made bag or bicycle.

The coloring is inspired by a café latte

Mr. Minemura is looking for something that can be loved for a long time, not only for bicycles and bags, but also for everything else. The same is true of his fashion, and he has long been a fan of well-tailored shirts and denim from long-established brands that he trusts. The bag that Mr. Minemura ordered this time shows his strong commitment to quality and the essence of his job as a barista.

. "I have been using backpacks for a long time, so I chose a familiar roll-top backpack for this project as well. . I chose a roll-top backpack because I have been carrying a backpack for a long time, and it is made of durable canvas so that I can use it for a long time. I always dress in a classical style, so it also goes well with my coordination. Also, recently I have been having a lot of meetings outside and doing a lot of office work, so I feel that the capacity to hold a lot of things is also important. In that sense, this model was perfect for me. Furthermore, since I am a barista, the coloring was inspired by the image of a café latte, and I chose it in the hope that it would subtly express the backbone of the user and his/her lifestyle. Other than that, the design is quite simple, and my style is to remove unnecessary decorations and keep it as basic as possible.

The back of the bag has a zip that allows access to the main compartment, and the front strap has an adjuster that can be adjusted depending on the volume of the bag. In addition, there is a secret pocket on the side for storing a U-shaped lock, umbrella, etc. , and a PC sleeve inside. The new box-type logo, instead of the swirl logo synonymous with the brand, creates an urban atmosphere. 39 cm W × 43.5 cm H × 16 cm D ¥15,800〜

Mr. Minekura got his ideal bag through Timbuktu's customization service. Timbuk2 was one of the brands he used to see on the West Coast when he was a student there. He was familiar with various street cultures such as skating, BMX, and piste riding, and saw many people with creative lifestyles patronizing Timbuk2, and secretly longed to own one.

. Perhaps it was because the brand originated in San Francisco, but I saw it everywhere in the city on the West Coast. Since that time, I had the image that the brand was loved by extreme people, mainly bicyclists, but also skaters and BMX riders. Being able to custom-order from such a trusted specialty brand is a reason to want to use that brand for a long time, and just like clothes and shoes, I am happy to be able to match my own style and tastes. In this age of overflowing goods, being able to order and create what you really want may become the norm in the future.
