Dig It Regular T-Shirt

The profound world of regular T-shirts 3.

Everyone has his or her own way of enjoying vintage clothing, but we are not bound by existing values such as "age" or "rarity," but rather ask, "How do you enjoy it? The key is to think from the perspective of "How will I enjoy it? The category called "regular vintage clothing" is one in which the viewpoint of "how to enjoy it" is important, without being bound by existing values such as "age" and "rarity. The "Doregular T-shirt Exhibition," a vintage clothing event focusing on regular T-shirts, the symbol of this category, is making a comeback for the third time! As in the previous and previous editions, we have urgently called together three of the event's organizers, Mr. Nakano of "dojoe," Mr. Hatanaka of "weber," and Mr. izmt of "AnoLuck," to participate in the event. We asked each of them to talk about their "pick of the litter" from the T-shirts on display at the event, and how they enjoy regular T-shirts. The interview is a bit long, but please bear with us!

Intellectual skating, small, stylish, Ueno type, and smug.

Item01_ T-Shirt

Hatanaka:Now, let me introduce ALPHANUMERIC for the first installment of my turn. Personally, I have a strong image of NIKE's Dunk SB, but I hadn't really checked out their apparel, so I did some research and found out that they are actually an intelligent skate brand.

What do you mean?

Hatanaka:The brand name "Alpha" means letters and "Numeric" means language, and is derived from the idea that "people use letters and language to communicate and use them to create opportunities. This one also has a small "to all" and "=" on the chest, which probably means "all are equal. On the back, there are mathematical symbols and "math is power" printed on the hem.

Nakano:This was a time when skate culture, which had previously had an underground feel, was moving in a pop direction, and a mass atmosphere was emerging.

Hatanaka:Oh yeah, and the ADs (advertisements) here are cool too. It's very stylish, with skaters taking classes in a school classroom and a graduation-album-style group photo. Personally, I think it deserves more recognition.

Izmt:It was from the late 90's to the 00's, right around the time Kazuki and I were skateboarding together. At the time, I didn't wear it because I felt it was too "koreja-nai," and even now, I never thought of digging for it because it is too real-time, but it might be interesting.

Hatanaka:It may be true that some people of the same generation do not go to school as much as expected. We have also collected some of these items in this issue, so please enjoy them.

Item02_ Yves Monta T-Shirt

Hatanaka:Next, here is a cool little Larry Clark-esque composition.

It's quite unusual to have a concert featuring Keisuke Kuwata of the Southern All Stars singing a classic jazz standard.

Hatanaka:Right. Well, I don't know if the producers intended Larry Clark or not (laughs).

Nakano:In fact, which came first, this or Supreme?

Izmt:Speaking of which, wasn't FUCT the first one in the early 90's? According to the Internet, the concert was held in 1996, so if this was influenced by that, they must have had good taste.

Nakano:It's a transfer, not silk, but the balance of the print placement is exquisite. How much?

Hatanaka:4,000 yen, I think.

I think even if there were about 10 copies, they would sell out immediately.

Hatanaka:Then, for 4,100 yen, or even 4,400 yen (laughs).

Item03_ Credit card parody T-Shirt

Hatanaka:While searching for corporate goods, I thought, "Various brands have sampled the graphics of credit card companies," and tried to find some, but the clever designs were too expensive to fit into the regular price range. ...... I found a parody motif, one probably from snowboard brand Burton, with a card printed on the front and a statement on the back.

Nakano:It's usually stylish and very American. Maybe in the 2000s.

Hatanaka:The other MasterCard has a "Mr. Hard" on it. The other MasterCard has the message "Mr. Hard" on it, which means "I accept all women in the world".

Nakano:What is this? Is it a souvenir?

Izmt:It looks like something you'd find at Ameyoko. This is the "Ueno type".

Hatanaka:(LOL). If you think it's a MasterCard and it's actually Mr. Hardware, you will be quite embarrassed, so please understand that when you make your purchase.

I can't wait to see what kind of people will buy it.

Hatanaka:I am the one!" DT customers who are "I'm the one!

Item04_ Logo T-Shirt

Hatanaka:The last one is a logo thing, which is nothing. ...... Do you know what a smuggler is?

Nakano:What are you suddenly saying?

Hatanaka:The other day, I was at a set restaurant and was told that a very rare skipjack had just arrived, but it turned out to be a smuggler's skipjack. So I thought to myself, "What is a "smatsuo" in a regular T-shirt?" I thought, "What is a "smuggler's skipjack" in a regular T-shirt?

The answer to that question is a logo?

Hatanaka:That's right. If you look around a little, you can find plenty of logo items, but there are surprisingly few things that really catch your eye, such as the size, the atmosphere of the print, and the placement of the print.

Nakano:I see. Thinking about it, this "Nike" also has a Hungarian body and a swoosh on the hem, which is "a little" unusual. Timberland's also has a marbled body with a logo of this size, which is not so common.

Izmt:You're not very good at retrofitting (laughs).

Hatanaka:It has an old "Stussy" feel to it.

Nakano:Or, it could be an "UNDERCOVER" or "GOODENOUGH" feeling (laughs).

Hatanaka:I didn't pay attention to the tag at all, but as expected of Nakano, he is watching! In fact, I could only find two of these smuggly T-shirts (laughs). So this time, I didn't want to leave any unsold, so I just put them together in an easy-to-understand way.
