Dig It Regular T-Shirt

The profound world of regular T-shirts 3.

Everyone has his or her own way of enjoying vintage clothing, but we are not bound by existing values such as "age" or "rarity," but rather ask, "How do you enjoy it? The key is to think from the perspective of "How will I enjoy it? The category called "regular vintage clothing" is one in which the viewpoint of "how to enjoy it" is important, without being bound by existing values such as "age" and "rarity. The "Doregular T-shirt Exhibition," a vintage clothing event focusing on regular T-shirts, the symbol of this category, is making a comeback for the third time! As in the previous and previous editions, we have urgently called together three of the event's organizers, Mr. Nakano of "dojoe," Mr. Hatanaka of "weber," and Mr. izmt of "AnoLuck," to participate in the event. We asked each of them to talk about their "pick of the litter" from the T-shirts on display at the event, and how they enjoy regular T-shirts. The interview is a bit long, but please bear with us!

I would be happy if you could find even one thing you like and go home.

So, here is everyone's "Recommended T". I want to have one of these T-shirts when I see them again. Also, I heard that there will be original T-shirts again this year. What kind of design is it?

Nakano:One time, when I was hand-printing a T-shirt, the ink was blown off. Normally, I would have given the T-shirt a B-grade quality, but I thought the T-shirt with the ink blown off looked really cool. I asked the two of them if it would be possible to show the ink skips as a graphic design. I asked them if they thought it would be a good idea to put a copywrite on the T-shirt. They said, "Why don't you put a copywrite on it? I thought that would make the ink splashes look like a design.

Izmt:Yes, it is.

Nakano:When I heard the idea, I thought, "Wow!" I thought, "Wow! Then I made a prototype with only the ink splashes and the copyright on the front, and I thought, "This is Marcel Duchamp! I thought, "This is Marcel Duchamp!

Hatanaka:. by signing the toilet bowl and titling it "Fountain," you sublimate it to an art form.

Nakano:The reason we have focused on the "de" regular T-shirts is to "look at things from a different angle", and this is a perfect representation of that theme. . And please let ......Izmt do the backing.

Izmt:It is very famous that Duchamp added a mustache and beard in pencil to a cheap postcard of "The Mona Lisa" and made it into a work called "L.H.O.O.Q." I used that as a motif.

Nakano:. and not by hand, but as a silk-screened version.

Hatanaka:That's the readymade approach.

The silk screen printing process gives the work a sense of inevitability, while the silk screen printing process is subject to the blurring of the ink by the artist, so there is also a sense of coincidence.

Izmt:Underneath the Mona Lisa is the message, "Take off your mask and smile. It was the right time of year to do it this way, but I thought it was a bit much. ...... Well, I don't mind if you don't mind.

All:(Laughter).

How many of these will be sold?

Nakano:I was so happy when this design came up that I turned it upside down, and I plan to make quite a few of them. I am also thinking of offering a slightly different pattern on the day of the event.

Izmt:We'll make about 5,000 copies, right?

Nakano:What are you talking about? No, there are people who will believe such a joke . By the way, it will also be available online.

I heard that this is the third time for you to participate in this event, and that it will be the final one.

Nakano:Compared to the time of the first meeting, it has become more commonplace to enjoy regular vintage clothing in this way, so there is no need for us to say, "It's bad, isn't it?" and we thought we would close the meeting.

Izmt:I don't like to be out in the open that much to begin with, and I had said from the beginning that I didn't want to do it, so now it's finally over (laughs).

Hatanaka:The same (laughs). I was having fun doing it, though.

Nakano:The reason why I asked both of them to participate in this event is because Kazuki is constantly checking vintage items at Weber, and Izmt is familiar with ink and printing techniques, so he can see things from a graphic point of view. And I usually do prints and understand the real atmosphere of the United States. I thought that by having the three of us look at things from different angles, we could come up with a variety of proposals.

The concept of regular T-shirts became three-dimensional by looking at it from three different angles, and the event became an opportunity to convey the irregularity (=interestingness) hidden within the regular (=ordinary).

Nakano:I would like to offer a new perspective, and I would be happy if visitors to this event find even one thing they like and leave with it.

Regular old clothes are free and interesting, aren't they? By shifting your perspective a little, you can find new value in regular T-shirts that you have never noticed before. The T-shirts introduced here are just a small part of the collection. Please take this opportunity to visit the exhibition with your 50G and taste the charm of regular T-shirts! See you , sometime soon. Say goodbye to all of you at Same Mind Same "do" Regular ...... .
