HOUYHNHNM's picks 13 brands to watch for "Spring/Summer 2023!

The Paris Men's Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2023 was held from June 21 to 26 this year. HOUYHNHNM's team visited the site and checked out 25 shows and more than 30 collections including presentations and exhibitions. Since the Corona disaster, most of the new collections have been presented online, but this time many brands chose to present their collections in real life. We saw not only the clothes, but also the venue, the models, the production, the visitors, and the people who gathered outside the venue to catch a glimpse of the invited celebrities.... There was a multifaceted interest in fashion, an entertainment aspect that could only happen at a live show. A sense of presence and exuberance that cannot be obtained through a monitor. 05 DRIES VAN NOTEN Dries Van Noten

フィナーレでは棒状のバルーンが膨らみ、モデルたちが一斉に登場。迫力ある圧巻の演出だった。

多様なエレガンスの形。

〈ドリスヴァンノッテン〉の舞台は中古車ディーラーが所有する立体駐車場の最上階。パリの街を一望できる場所で披露されたのは「Unusual elegance」をキーワードにしたコレクション。夜の男、カウボーイ、ペテン師、空想家など異なる男性像を描いた、型にはまらないスタイルが提案されました。ショーの冒頭に登場したのは、フォーマルな格好にワンピース的なものやキャミソール的なものを合わせたモデルたち。マスキュリンとフェミニンを混在させた自由な着こなしは、80年代の英国のクリエイティブ集団「BAFFALO」のビジュアルを参考につくられています。さらに、第二次世界大戦中にパリで流行したメンズファッション「Zazou」もイメージソースのひとつで、このブランドが得意とするスーツスタイルに反映されています。ショーは後半になるにつれて、ストリート感やスポーティさを備えた服をリズムよく展開。このブランドにしては珍しいレタリング使いも印象的。フィナーレにはモデルたちが一斉に登場、客席の後ろに設置された棒状のバルーンが膨らみ、2年半ぶりのショーは幕を閉じました。
