PROFILE
Born in 1980. Born in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture. After graduating from high school, he once found a job in his hometown, but later entered "Osaka NSC" as a 23rd year student. After winning numerous comedy contests and working as a duo and pin comedian, he moved to Tokyo in 2010 and formed Good Walkin with his classmate Ryohei in 2015.
- How did you become a comedian, Mr. Ueda?
Actually, after graduating from high school, I got a job at a local ironworks, but I didn't fit in. So I wanted to move to Osaka anyway, even as a freelancer, but my parents were against it. I chose the path of a comedian as an excuse to go to Osaka and go to NSC (Yoshimoto's training school for comedians).
I was in the 23rd term, and my classmates include Nakagawa Paradise of Woman Rush Hour, Nishimori of Monster Engine, and Tomochika.
- What has your career been like since you became a comedian?
The first duo I formed was doing quite well. We performed at "base Yoshimoto" with Laughing Man and Chidori, made it to the finals of the "ABC Comedy Newcomer Grand Prix" and the semi-finals of the "M-1 Grand Prix". Many people came to know me from there.
- That's a pretty good start.
If things had continued as they were, it might have been a good thing, but for some reason the duo broke up there. After that, I kept repeating the pin and duo acts, and in 2010, I came to Tokyo, but it didn't work out.
- What kind of life did you lead after you moved to Tokyo?
I was living together with a fellow comedian, and although I tried various things, such as streaming on YouTube, I was amazed at how little growth I was getting. I was about to quit being a comedian, but my current partner, Ryohei, convinced me to join him for the last time, and I reluctantly decided to continue being a comedian (laughs). (Laughs.) Since then, I have been working with Ryohei as Good Walkin'.
