To throw away or not to throw away glasses.
Mr. Ogi, you are wearing a jersey set-up today.
Ogi:What do you think? Isn't it cool?
It suits you very well.
Ogi:My wife has red and blue.
You wouldn't play sports wearing it, would you?
Ogi:I don't exercise. However, I recently started playing futsal. I dress up like a tennis player when I play.
Okada:Are you playing futsal in tennis attire?
Ogi:He likes to dress up like a tennis player and wear a hair band. What's that guy? ...Borg, Bjorn Borg.

Speaking of tennis, you also play tennis quite avidly, don't you, Okada-san?
Okada:Yes, it is.
Ogi:Isn't tennis too hard?
Okada:It's fun.
Ogi:I'm already done. If I'm forced to go sideways from where I am, I'm done. It's OK to hit from a position where you can't move.
Okada:It is indeed quite painful to be forced to run.
Ogi:How often do you do this?
Okada:About three a week.
Ogi:That much?
Okada:That's right. How often do you play futsal?
Ogi:It's not that many. I do it with the radio crew.
Okada:But futsal seems to run more than tennis, though.
Ogi:I don't run, I can skip. You can't skip tennis. You have to return the ball to your opponent. That's pretty hard, isn't it? You have to take care of your opponent.
I can't really imagine Ogi-san running hard.
Ogi:Certainly that is an aesthetic. First of all, I don't like people who run as fast as they can (laughs). (Laughs.) Saying it like this may not be in keeping with the current era. That's why I don't want to run as fast as I can either.

That prejudice is truly typical of you, isn't it, Mr. Ogi?
Ogi:I'm 51 years old now, and my wife gets mad at me when I talk like that. But, you know, I can't do it anymore.
(laughs). When did you two meet again?
Okada:It hasn't been that long, has it?
Ogi:We met at "Globe Specs" last December. Come to fix it.
Do you come to "Globespecs" often?
Ogi:I don't come here often, but I don't know...I don't know...I want glasses when I want them, and I want them when I don't want them. That's when I come.
How did you first meet?
Okada:As I recall, you came to our exhibition.
Ogi:What, was it an exhibition?
Okada:Was it normal for you to be there?
Ogi:Yes, I did. I believe I went to the store before it moved. I went there with a girl who is my stylist.

Mr. Ogi, you are famous for your eyeglasses.
Ogi:I have quite a few. But, as I say in front of an eyeglass shop, I throw them away.
You're throwing it away?
Ogi:Don't spectacles sometimes stop looking good on you after not wearing them for a while? There comes a time when a pair of glasses that I have been using for a long time no longer suits me. I throw away such glasses when I move out of the house. I am really sorry to talk about this at an eyeglass shop.
Okada:It doesn't look good on me anymore, or rather, my mood changes as the trend changes.
Ogi:Sometimes I am surprised, wondering why I used to wear such glasses. But then I put on a pair of glasses I bought about 10 years ago and ask my wife, "These don't look good on me, do they? She says, "No, they look good on you. So you never really know what glasses are like.
Okada:Even with the same round glasses, the size of round glasses from 10 years ago may be different. There is a trend, and if it is different from the trend, we feel uncomfortable.
By the way, what do you think about Ogi-san throwing away his glasses, Okada-san?
Ogi:No, it's really an outrageous story (laughs).
Okada:It still makes me a little nervous (laughs).
Ogi:That's right, isn't it? That's right.
Okada:However, when I hear your background, I don't understand why you keep the glasses you have out of love and throw away the ones you don't. However, it still makes me nervous (laughs).
Ogi:Really, it's not something you talk about in an eyeglass shop (laughs).
