7 supporting the style of 7, 50th Anniversary of Outdoor Products.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Outdoor Products. The history of Outdoor Products is a history of carrying a lot of baggage as well as the styles of various people. For this issue, we asked seven people of different ages and occupations, including artists, musicians, models, journalists, students, and comedians. Although their purposes of use and destinations may differ, their daypacks and roll-bostons, the eternal staples of their lives, support their every personal style. And that's not going to change in the future.

PROFILE

Yoshiaki Takahashi
Model/Artist

Born in 1989. A former Men's Non-No model, she currently works as a model for fashion magazines and advertisements in the "BE NATURAL" brand. She also studied architecture at university, and after obtaining her architectural license, set up a studio with other artists of the same generation in Warehouse A, 1-11-6 Higashi-Kasai, where she produces artworks and organizes exhibitions on an irregular basis.

How was the bag comfortable to carry?

The fabric of [Outdoor Products] bags is soft and variable, and it fits the body well. Also, I think my stylist, Mr. Matsukawa, knows me very well, so he was able to expand my style. It would surely be fun to be able to freely style bags and fashion like this.

What kind of bags do you usually use?

I prefer to go hand-held when possible, but when I need a bag, I use a backpack. For example, setting up an exhibit; I use two different backpacks, both black.

How would you use this backpack in your daily life?

It has a larger capacity than I imagined, and that is exactly what I felt it would be just right for when I am setting up. Also, I usually cook, and I would like to put some Tupperware with side dishes in this backpack and go to my friend's house.

LOOK 2 Vivid pink adds a casual touch.

How did you feel when you actually carried the bag on your back?

I've never had a backpack this big before, but this would definitely come in handy when shopping. I often buy large green onions and Chinese cabbage, so this would be very helpful. Also, when I ride my bicycle, I basically wear a backpack, but it tends to be stylish, so I thought it would be nice to have something as cute and large as this. It is vivid pink, but the matte fabric makes it easy to carry.

I've been carrying less and less stuff lately, so I'm interested in this mini-sized rolled boston. The gap between this small size and the small size of "Outdoor Products" is cute!

How do you use this bag in your daily life?

In the past year or so, my footwork has become lighter and I have more opportunities to travel. So I would like to take this backpack with me when I go to Taiwan or some other small outing for a night or two. It will be spring, and I thought a small bag would be good to take to picnics, barbecues, and other outside events. It can be washed even if it gets dirty.

What are your criteria for choosing a bag?

Almost all of my personal belongings are delicate but practical. They are only small in size, but it is important to know how much you can fit in them. Actually, it would be nice if the gusset is stowed or if there is space for a folding umbrella. And then...if you can fit a handkerchief in it, it's OK!

What is a bag to you?

I know there are those who are "empty-handed" and put all their belongings in their pockets, but I prefer to carry a bag no matter how many pockets my clothes have! I carry a bag even if it is only big enough to hold my keys. For me, a bag is indispensable.
