With the SWAGGER I brought with me, I decided to test cast it in a river near Casting Higashikurume!
Ishii and Ikemoto got two reels at Osoro. The first is the Tatura SV TW 103HL.
Ishii:. after much debate with the Girion SV TW, I decided to go with the Tatura SV TW. It is reassuring because it is versatile enough to handle lightweight lures and big baits up to 2 oz. . I also rely on the "SV" brake system, which reduces backlash. The gloss black color suits the SWAGGER , and I like it.
Ikemoto:. I'm going to combine the Tatura SV TW with the C610MH because it can handle a wide range of lures too.
Another one that they both chose was the Steeze A II TW 1000HL.
Ishii:I got this one because it is a high-end model of versatile reel, which was recommended to me by the staff at Casting. I wanted to use a variety of lures, so I chose the middle gear ratio. It's so cool! I can't say enough about it.
Ikemoto:I heard that it can cover both long and short distances, so it is ideal for me who wants to do various kinds of fishing. The staff said that the "Mag-Z Boost" brake system is very comfortable to cast, so I will try my best to feel it!
Hiramoto has several bait reels, but what did he end up choosing?
Hiramoto:." I decided on the "Steeze Limited SV TW 1000S-XH". The flagship model "Steed SV TW" is the highest model. I have always wanted one, so I took the plunge and will use it with SWAGGER's C72H!
Like Hiramoto, Ichikawa, who has many bait reels, carefully selected the STEEZ A II TW 1000XH. Ishii and Ikemoto have a high gear, but Ichikawa chose an extra high gear.
Ichikawa:It will be mounted on a C72H. I'm a bit of a slacker, so I wanted a robust model. The spool that winds the line is made of G1 duralumin, a special aluminum alloy. In other words, it is lightweight and rigid. The C72H worked well the last time I fished for sea bass, so I wanted to use it in the ocean as well, so I decided on the STEEZ A Ⅱ TW, which is compatible with saltwater. Saltfish run more than bass when they hit, and there is also a tidal current, so I went with XH (Extra High Gear), which is quicker to retrieve.

Komatsu:I chose this lure for throwing frog lures. The SV Boost lure is very comfortable to cast, and the Hyperdrive design makes it very sensitive to reeling in. I chose a high gear because I hear that a good return on the frog is important. Mr. Kodairo Kawamura, who I worked with at the Shikoku training camp, told me that it is important to reel in the frog as soon as it lands on the water, so I used the left-hand handle. Actually, I am happy because this was the model I had been aiming for a long time!
And the other is "Steed A TW HLC 6.3R".
Komatsu:I chose the "Steed A TW HLC" so that I can throw it as far as possible on land, and the C65MH-FR can handle lures up to 42 g, so I want to throw big baits! The "Girion" is high geared and left handled, but this one is normal geared and right handled because I want to use it more for reeling. . I will switch to the C65MH-FR depending on the lure I want to throw that day. The staff at Casting said that they also use this for sea bass fishing, so it will be a good partner.
The river is narrow, but when I get in my boat, I often aim this far, so it's good practice. How does it feel to cast?
Ishii:First up is the Tatura SV TW. Yeah, it's fine , no backlash. No backlash. Pitching, you see? I can do it well.
Ikemoto:"SV Boost" is like a great catcher that follows up even if the cast is a little lax. However, it doesn't mean that you will never backlash, so I would keep the brake setting at a higher level and gradually get used to it.
Komatsu:Yes, I agree. . It's a waste of time to fix the backlash. . I like the feeling of casting with a bait reel, which is totally different from that of a spinning reel. The sound of the spinning spool is also nice. I can't wait to enjoy the frog game with the Girion SV TW.
The three bait reel beginners were very impressed with the "SV Boost". Ichikawa's "Alphas SV TW" is also equipped with "SV".
