I don't know why I buy things.
It's been a while since I've attended a one-man show by an overseas band, but after the Corona disaster, I think I'll finally be able to enjoy them this year. In February, when there was a rush of bands visiting Japan, including Wet Leg, Fontaines DC, Coola Shaker, and Leccoli, I went to the live concert of Pavement to start things off. I'm a big fan of these US alternative bands from the 90s, and Pavement is one of my favorites. 13 years after seeing them for the first time, they are still as groggy, full of humor, and full of sense. I had the most emo time, reminiscing about the days when I was a heavy listener in my teens and twenties and soaking up the nostalgia. The photo is a tour T-shirt I got as a commemorative gift, a reissue design of the '93 tour T. I like the hand-drawn lo-fi feel and the badass text, which is typical of Pavement. I probably won't wear it on a daily basis, but... I tend to buy T-shirts at live shows. I don't know why. I don't regret it at all.
