Three festivals we want to go to

As described in vol 1.In vol. 2, we will introduce three festivals that we like to visit and enjoy in this way. FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL" is what most people think of when they hear the word "festival," "LIVE AZUMA" was newly born in Fukushima last year, and "Iwakabe Music Festival" is attracting attention for its independent style. What kind of thoughts went into the creation of these three festivals with their disparate personalities and styles?

FES.03: LIVE AZUMA Delivering new entertainment from the new Tohoku .

HOUYHNHNM's Points of Interest

(1) The first event in the 2022 Corona Disaster.
(2) The main stage is an artificial turf ball field.
. 3) Foods from all over the Northeast are gathered in one place.

In 2022, it was (and still is) difficult to hold festivals due to the Corona disaster. It was during this time that "LIVE AZUMA" was held for the first time in Fukushima. Turning back the hands of the clock to 2014, the festival was first organized by the staff of Fukushima TV and the executive committee chairperson, who were working as volunteers at the "Fukushima Fest" held at Roppongi Hills in Tokyo. Then, through a connection with a Fukushima TV staff member who had been on the volunteer team in the past, Creative Man Productions, which has worked on numerous festivals such as "SUMMER SONIC" as well as international artists and large-scale domestic performances, joined the team to form the current team.

Last year, the festival was held for two days on October 15 (Sat.) and 16 (Sun.), and featured bands such as Wolfles and Dragon Ash, Hip Hop acts such as Schadaraparr and OMSB, and DJs such as DJ Mitsu the Beats and Takeshi Kubota, making it hard to believe that this was the first time the festival was held. The stadium atmosphere of Fukushima Azuma Stadium, as well as the 77 food and beverage booths, made the event a big hit.

This year, DENKI GROOVE, YOUR SONG IS GOOD, STUTS, Hitsujibungaku, and many other inspiring artists are scheduled to perform, and expectations for the lineup to be added in the future will naturally grow. In addition to music, don't miss "PARK LIFE," a free market zone where "delicious" foods from all over Tohoku will be gathered. What kind of spectacle will this year's "LIVE AZUMA," which will present new entertainment from the new Tohoku region of Fukushima, a little over 10 years after the earthquake, present to us? Please visit the site and see for yourself.

Unlike clubs and live houses, there are many interesting and exciting aspects that are unique to festivals, but please list three characteristics of "LIVE AZUMA" among them.

These are the livability of the venue and the atmosphere of the stadium, which is also the main stage (e.g., not curing the artificial turf for visitors to enjoy), the attention to each creative aspect including the decorations, making the market zone a free zone, and the many stalls, mainly food and drink, that will be set up there.

. What are three of the most memorable events you have held in the past?

(1) That we managed to hold the event in 2021 under the name "PARK LIFE" for free, when we almost gave up on holding it due to the Corona disaster. . Without that, I think it is safe to say that last year's inaugural event would not have been held.

When we held the festival for the first time last year, Tortoise Matsumoto said on stage at the stage of Wolfles, "This festival has the atmosphere of being a very good festival," and Kj of Dragon Ash came to the festival for the entire two days and said, "This is one of the best festivals I have ever been to. Kj from Dragon Ash came to the festival for two days and said, "This is one of the best festivals I have ever been to.

. 3) All the passion that went into last year's inaugural event.

Do you have any overseas events or festivals that you refer to?

Nothing in particular, but I would like to bring out in "LIVE AZUMA" the sense of freedom that can be achieved by having a staff that has experienced many overseas festivals, and the atmosphere of freedom that I have felt in that experience (although it is abstract).

. What is your recommendation for how to enjoy and play "LIVE AZUMA"?

As well as the music, we hope you will enjoy the "PARK LIFE" market zone, where you can find good food and sake from all over Tohoku. There is also a Tohoku ramen booth selected by a ramen producer, and we were told by the festival's web media that this is "the festival with the best ramen in Japan" (laughs).

What is the difference between an indoor concert or club event and a festival?

. where the air is flowing. . where the climate is one of the souvenirs of your heart.

. Do you have a message for those who come to visit?

We have a very nice venue for this event. Please come and enjoy a full day of great live music, food, and markets in a relaxing atmosphere filled with nature.
