Anyway, it is a piece that can be worn roughly.
Mr. Koga is a designer who likes music, sports, military and other cultures. He is inspired by his daily exposure to the things he likes and incorporates them into his designs and wardrobe.
I found this NYU college T-shirt when I wandered into my favorite vintage clothing store in Shin-Kiba. I bought it because I thought it was cute and the color fade was nice. I like wearing T-shirts made by friends and artists, but I love this T-shirt because it can be worn for any occasion.
Mr. Koga is a designer who has many friends and seniors around him who are involved in the clothing industry. We asked him to tell us about his own specialties in making T-shirts.
I place particular emphasis on design and graphics. I made a graphic T-shirt called "Little Trouble Girl" for KOGA. The words are the name of a song by Sonic Youth, and I had Saito Kei draw the graphics. We thought it would be fun to have girls wear this T-shirt. We are always looking for messages that make people laugh. I try to make sure the fabric is not too thick or too thin, and sometimes I use pre-made bodies, but I also make my own original T-shirts. I try to choose fabrics that suit the timing of the occasion and the stores where they will be sold.
This time, the T-shirts are vintage, so the colors and shapes are one-of-a-kind. That's why you can't help but pick up a piece that is just right.
I have a lot of T-shirts, both new and used, but this is the only college T-shirt I have. I feel like wearing an XS or S like this T-shirt and wearing it exactly how I want it. The neck is just right. I often wear bright pink, but my favorite color is navy.
This is a fateful piece that matches Mr. Koga's current mood exquisitely. The selection is typical of Mr. Koga's love of American culture.
