FN glasses and the two Suzuki Kowskis.

FN glasses and the two Suzuki Kowskis.

Suzuki Kohsuke is a photo story that is a result of this too good to be true coincidence: they have almost the same first name, both are actors, both wear glasses, and both work at ....... It is no coincidence that the glasses they are wearing are from an eyewear brand called "FN (FOUR NINES)," but there is no doubt that the brand is a new line of eyewear that is a strong and powerful force, with functionality that keeps up with the actor's movements and a fashion sense that matches any outfit. Please enjoy the photo story by two Suzuki Kohske, who are regular wearers of the glasses.

Glasses Q&A with actor Kosuke Suzuki

When did you start wearing glasses?

Kosuke (40s):I started wearing them around junior high school when my eyesight started to deteriorate. When I was practicing hard at the golf range, I was going back and forth between bright and dark areas many times a day, so I thought that might have been the cause. My parents are not blind. Well, I am sure it was not because of my studies (laughs).

Kosuke (20s):In a play I performed in when I was 21, the director asked me (referring to the other actor in the role at a distance), "What does this person look like?" I answered, "I can't see him! I answered, "I can't see him! That is when I finally realized that I had bad eyesight (laughs). I had good eyesight until high school. (laughs). When I put on my glasses, my blurred vision became clearer, and I realized that this is how I see the world (laughs).

What did you think of FN's glasses?

Kosuke:I was impressed that they were all really comfortable to wear. They are lightweight, and the temples are rounded, so the fit is just right. They go well with simple clothes like the ones I wore today, and the design allows them to be the star of the show. I have worn many brands from overseas, but I prefer Japanese-made products, especially those made in Sabae, and when I heard that "FN" was also made in Sabae, I knew it was good.

Kosuke:I like all the designs, but I especially like the design I wore at the tropical fish store (Boston type) and the design I wore at Nishikoyama (Wellington type). Moreover, they were all lightweight and comfortable to wear. My glasses usually slide down my nose, so I have to lift them up every time, but the glasses (Wellington type) from Nishikoyama did not slide down once.

What criteria do you usually use to select eyeglasses?

Kosuke:I currently own about 40 pairs of glasses, but the ones I use most often are the ones that are hard to break and easy to wear. I don't want glasses that are so delicate that they can be broken by the slightest thing. I don't match them with my clothes, so I end up with a lot of the same black-rimmed glasses.

Kosuke:In my case, I like fashion, so I have roughly 15 pairs of glasses in various designs and colors to match my clothes. For example, I try to match yellow-framed glasses to take them a bit out of the ordinary. I like Boston and Wellington frames.

Your name is different by one kanji character, but it is the same "Suzuki Kousuke". How did you recognize each other?

Kosuke:In fact, there is a film director by the same name, Kosuke Suzuki, who has the exact same kanji (Chinese characters). When I was having a drink with the director, we were talking about making a film with only actors and staff named "Kousuke Suzuki. The director told me that he had a good young actor named "Kosuke Suzuki" at some point. We were talking about how this made the idea of making a film even more realistic, but this project (HOUYHNHNM's) was done first (laughs).

Kosuke:It was my dream to one day co-star with him and greet him on stage saying, "I am Kosuke Suzuki" and "This is Kosuke Suzuki, too. I saw "Liar Game" (in which Kosuke Suzuki appeared) when I was in elementary school, and I still remember it, but I never thought that the day would come when I could co-star on the web with Kosuke Suzuki, whom I saw then. ...... I wish I could say that to myself back then (laughs).
