-Have you been to the mountains with the "Muddy Waterz" lately?
FACE: We all have so much to do these days, it's been a while.... But I do go to the outdoor store. It's interesting to see new products, touch unfamiliar gear, and make new discoveries. When I went to Europe the other day, I couldn't help but go to outdoor shops.
-What do you consider important when selecting gear for mountain climbing?
FACE: I think it's the appearance and ease of use. I climb mainly in low mountains, so I don't need that much serious equipment.
-I understand that you are wearing an Arc'teryx shell.
FACE: This shell was released in 2020 as a BEAMS special order "Zeta SL". The logo on the chest is gold, the front has a double-zip design, and other details not found in the inline version are used. The "BEAMS" logo is embroidered in the same color on the hood.
-Do you own various other Arc'teryx items?
FACE: The pants I am wearing today are from "SYSTEM_A" by Arc'teryx, and I also have an Arc'teryx fleece in my backpack. When I climb mountains, I always wear something from this brand. I also bought a vest for trekking with Mr. SHINKNOWNSUKE. Besides running, the vest was also very useful at festivals.
-You are quite a heavy user, aren't you? When did you first become aware of Arc'teryx?
FACE: When I was in high school? Right around that time, there was a boom in outdoor brands, and my classmates were using "Arc'teryx" bags.
-At that time, were there many people using Arc'teryx?
FACE: No, I wasn't there that much. It's not a high street outdoor brand! I thought.
-What was your impression of the brand itself?
FACE: Anyway, that logo was very strong. I was shocked that they used the ancestral bird design that I had learned in class. The product design was also sophisticated and cool. At the time, I wanted to buy one, but I couldn't because I felt it was too expensive.
-You've been longing for this for a long time.
FACE: So the first thing I got was this shell. I was happy to finally be able to wear it. So I wear it not only for mountain climbing, but also in town.
-What kind of functionality do you experience when you use it in the mountains?
FACE: Anyway, it is lightweight, but the material is made of GORE-TEX, so it is comfortable to wear even on rainy days. It is windproof, and with layering, it is not cold at all in winter. For me, who does a lot of low-mountain hiking, these are just the right specs.
-So it is a piece of clothing that can be used regardless of the occasion.
FACE: I also ride a motorcycle in town, and I wear it when I ride. Come to think of it, I also wear Arc'teryx gloves when I ride my motorcycle (laughs). It is a brand that has an unshakable core, yet has a cool, avant-garde image that makes me want to wear it both in the mountains and in the city.
