This past February, I traveled to Ojai and Santa Barbara, California, on business. The purpose of the trip was a fashion shoot for "Gregory," and the weather was not unlike California, with flood warnings (!) showing up on my phone screen as soon as I arrived at the LAX airport. Among the many places we visited, one of the most memorable was Joe's CAFE, an American diner established in 1928 in Santa Barbara. We had breakfast in the retro atmosphere with red checkered tablecloths and paper napkins. The T-shirt in the photo is a souvenir from the store's cash register counter. I bought it because of its simple design with the store's logo printed on the black body. The fact that it is made in the U.S.A. with a soft fabric body is one of my favorite features, and I have a feeling that this one will be on more often in the summer. Now that I think about it, I should have bought the sweatshirt that was in the line with it.

We have all had the experience of rudely glancing at someone wearing a T-shirt that caught our attention at a club or live music venue, on a train, or in a restaurant. This is especially true if it is a band or rap T-shirt. Nowadays, vintage band and rap T-shirts are often priced at ridiculous prices, and the chances of finding a bargain at a thrift store are pretty much (or almost) nonexistent. Among such rap T-shirts, this book contains too-rare items such as promo T-shirts, tour T-shirts, and flyers that were sold in Japan from the 1980s to the early 2000s. Incidentally, the book also includes a collection of vintage Hip Hop T-shirts, which are also available in the book. HOP T-shirt collector ROSS ONE, who is known as a DJ and a collector of vintage HIP HOP T-shirts, published the book "RAP TEE VOL. 2" in 2023, and started a spin-off project called "RAP TEES -Japanese RAP TEES -Japanese Rap Tees Edition-". As an editor, I can only imagine how hard it is to collect just one piece, but to ask so many people to help me collect this many pieces of quality and quantity is almost overwhelming.

We recently met for the first time in several years, graffiti artist ZECS. We met up at "Curry & Spice Blue Bird" in Hatagaya. ZECS had called for us there, and we were joined by Mr. Aki Yuki of "Mudbox," whom we had not seen for quite a while. Mudbox is an art gallery and store located in Sakae, Nagoya, featuring an exhibition by risa ogawa, who did the artwork for the jacket of Campanella's 2nd album "PEASTA". I think it was a few years ago that I had the pleasure of visiting an exhibition by risa ogawa, who did the artwork for the jacket of Campanella's second album, "PEASTA". A few days after meeting them, I checked the online store of "Mudbox" and found a tote bag I was interested in, a collaboration between DF.SQEZ, whom ZECS introduced me to and whom I had interviewed before, and PUTS, whom I have not seen at all recently.
