What does the perfect haircut look like for your new life?

April is the beginning of a new life. While it is a good time to give your hair a drastic makeover, just by adjusting your usual hairstyle, you can change your impression. Since hairstyle is also a fashion item, we asked Tokyo's hip barbershops and hairdressers to create hairstyles suitable for a new life. Let's make a fresh start and look fresh in spring with their hairstyles as a reference.

BARBER 02 : CUT HOUSE KYODO

A sophisticated two-seat space near the station.

Mr. Hokusho Takahashi, a barber who was interviewed.

Located near Kyodo Station, CUT HOUSE KYODO is a sister store of BARBER SAKOTA in Shimotakaido. It is a friendly "barbershop in town" visited by people of all ages. It is a friendly "town barbershop" that is visited by people of all ages. The neighborhood is dotted with delicious, privately owned restaurants. The popular areas of Shimokitazawa and Gotokuji are also nearby, making it a great place to spend the day after a haircut.

The front of the restaurant is made of glass, allowing pleasant light to stream into the interior. The clean, white-based interior is subtle and has many details that are apparent when you look closely. The use of vintage American handles on the entrance door and the introduction of overhauled vintage styling chairs add a nice sense of discomfort to the stylish space. The interior was designed by "STUDIO DOUGHNUTS, which also produces interior products. STUDIO DOUGHNUTS also designed "BARBER SAKOTA," which was renovated last year.

The frames for the speakers embedded in the wall were created by "NOTEWORKS," a handmade furniture and interior design company. This design, which at first glance is not recognizable as speakers, is stylish. Another feature is that the air conditioner is placed out of sight. And the styling chairs with their covers changed to green add warmth to the entire store. You can imagine the meticulousness of the haircuts from such attention to detail in the store.

HOUYHNHNM'S REQUEST

"Not too 'naughty' fade cut, please."

CUT HOUSE KYODO" was visited by many customers who wanted to try new hairstyles before their new lives. KYODO. Mr. Hokusho Takahashi, the barber who cut the hair at CUT HOUSE KYODO, said that he often cuts hair without giving a clean cut, but rather letting the customer's hair style shine through first. He says that it is easy to cut, but it takes time to grow it out, so he starts with a moderate cut and consults with the client about whether to make it shorter or the same length the next time. This way, the customer will not regret the cut. This time, he proposed a fade cut style with bangs left in. The fringe and collar are shaved close to the skin, and the sides are trimmed lower than usual to give a soft impression and a clean finish.

RECOMMENDED BY CUT HOUSE KYODO

Organic, soft textured grease.

BBS Products Grease ¥4,400

CUT HOUSE KYODO recommends "BBS Products" developed by "BARBER SAKOTA BBS Products Grease" developed by BARBER SAKOTA. It is softer and less sticky than ordinary grease, and is made with ingredients that are as close to organic as possible, so it is gentle on the skin. The person who had her hair cut this time used this grease instead of oil because of her hard hair. Simply spread an appropriate amount on your hands and blend it into your hair to complete the set.
