A crash course in the fashionable people found at the Mount Fuji 100!

We often hear that "many trail runners are fashionable," but is this true? We visited the Mt. Fuji 100, one of the largest trail running races in Japan, and took snapshots of the athletes in the middle of the race, supporters of the athletes, and staff of brands exhibiting at the expo!

--What is your role in this year's tournament?

One of my juniors from school is competing in the FUJI100mi and I am here to support him. I am also a volunteer staff member, helping with course maintenance, marking, and other aspects of event management.

--Have you ever competed in this tournament as an athlete yourself?

Yes, I have: in 2018, I competed in and completed the 100 miles of the then UTMF.

--What is the target time for your friends who are competing in this event?

We are aiming to complete the race in about 36-38 hours. He competed in the FUJI 100-mile race last year, but unfortunately he had to retire halfway through the race. I hope he will do his best to finish the race this time as it will be his revenge.
