It was already past noon when we were fishing around. The high tide was just starting to move to low tide, and I noticed that Mr. Murayama was casting a lure. I watched him for a while, and the fish that hit the water was ......!
The long-sought after kampachi! It is the size of a shiogo, a fish that changes its name as it grows, but it is as good as it gets! The lure that swallowed the fish with a pleasantly large gulp was the "Shoreline Shiner Z Set Upper" by DAIWA, Inc. Lunker Hunter 125S-DR" by DAIWA . As the name suggests, this lure was developed to catch lunker sea bass and bluefish over 80 cm in length. . The lure has a good reputation for its good movement even when just reeling in.
Murata: . the wind was getting weaker, so I started throwing the lure, thinking that maybe it would be a good idea. As I was reeling it in, I thought I somehow saw a fish chasing me. I reeled it in slowly, and it bit.
Everyone is excited to get their first hit with a lure. Perhaps a yellowfin tuna was coming around as well! As the anticipation grew, Mr. Tanaka, a public relations representative for DAIWA, also caught a kampachi on a lure! With the perfect opportunity, Mr. Murayama and Mr. Murata began to cast their lures.
As usual, the bukko group is doing well.
Ishii is a good size red grouper . . If you buy one this size in Tokyo, it will be a good price. . I never get bored because I can catch various species of fish.
Ishii: . Each has a different pull, and it is interesting that the timing of hooking is different for each species of fish.
Ikemoto: . Perhaps they are trained by the current, but even small fish have a strong pull. Since bukkaku is so easy to catch, you might think you've become a better fisherman (laughs).
Mr. Murayama and Mr. Murata cast out, dreaming of bluefish, but the kampachi had already passed. They decided to take the plunge.
The bubukko are caught one after another, but they do not respond to the swimming lures that attract yellowfin tuna. While trying various lures, I tried throwing them to where several petrels were flying on the surface of the sea, targeting small fish. In the meantime, it was time to pick them up. We didn't catch any yellowfin tuna , but we were satisfied with our catch.
Murayama: . one of my goals was to catch a Kampachi, so I achieved half of it. . I enjoyed fishing without thinking about anything else. I used to fish mainly with lures, but it was also interesting to fish with buckeye.
Ishii: I had lost my senses, but when I thought about it, I was fishing in an amazing place. . My original goal was to catch bluefish, but I was left with a lot of regret because I didn't catch any myself.
Murata: . I experienced a location and a richness of fish that I could not experience in the Kanto area, and I fell in love with fishing even more. . I regret that I did not catch any bluefish. Next time, I want to catch a big bluefish and tuna.
Ikemoto: I was hoping for tuna , but I am sure it was the right time to catch them, so I had no choice. It was beyond fishing , it was an adventure.
Komatsu: . I was happy to catch many fish that are typical of the offshore rocky areas of Hachijojima. . and I learned that I am not good enough. But it was so much fun that it made me want to go back to the offshore rocky shore again soon!
