Going a little farther than usual - it's a tiny thing now that I think about it, but still an exciting summer vacation adventure. That feeling has not changed as I have grown up. So what has changed? Well, the reward of beer for the friends who would go on adventures with me. The air-conditioned room is comfortable. But if you venture outside with your usual friends, there are great summer memories and good beer situations waiting for you. It can be far away or close by. For example, Mr. and Mrs. Hanawa, who run The Landscapers, a botanical brand in Kamakurayama, seem to have friends gathering there every day. And when they add a Corona beer to the usual barbecue, the conversation seems to get even more lively than usual.

The Landscapers

The botanical brand was established in 2014 by Masaki, who used to work for an apparel manufacturer, and Maiko, who used to work in the planting industry. In addition to magazines and websites, they are also involved in the interior design of the store, focusing on greenery. Last September, they opened their flagship store "AROUND" near their home. Masaki and Maiko Hanawa, the owners of The Landscapers, moved to Mt. The trees surround the area, giving it the feel of the ancient capital of Kamakura, and the distance to the ocean is just right. It is also a great place for children. However, Masaki says that she moved here "because I found this place while surfing the Internet," not because she was yearning for the so-called Kamakura lifestyle.

But thanks to moving here, I was able to get to know everyone. There was a store called 'Midtide' in Zaimokuza, which is now closed, run by (pro surfer) Ryu Nakamura. When I went there to celebrate its 4th anniversary, people from the Shonan area gathered there, and many of us became friends through that.

When I was working in Tokyo, work was my work and friends were my friends, but in Kamakura, work and friends are the same. Maiko said, "When I was working in Tokyo, work was work and friends were friends, but in Kamakura, work and friends are the same.

They gather naturally because they are close to home.

Heino Hirai, who brought his homemade sausages to this barbecue, is from Shichirigahama. He now runs a German-style sausage store in Koshigoe.

Masaki moved to Hase two years ago with her husband, a hairdresser whom she calls Yasan. They moved to the area to open a beauty salon and restaurant.

Maiko had wanted to offer baked goods in her store even before the opening of the flagship "AROUND" store. An editor acquaintance introduced her to Atsuko, who also held cooking classes. This encounter led to a family friendship that now extends to their mutual visits to each other's homes.

This time we gathered at Hanawa-san's house, but Yamaguchi and his wife live in Kamakura and the nearby Hase area. Haino-san is also in Koshigoe, so the Hanawa's often visit his restaurant.

Before I moved here, I was living in a new condo in Kawasaki. I had friends then too, but the house was small and not everyone was that close, so it was like they would come over with a heavy heart. But when I moved here, someone would come to visit me every day. They would come out of the blue and say, "Oh, wow! I had a lot of "Oh, wow!

I go there, eat, and drink without making any appointments or schedules. It's a lifestyle I didn't have when I lived in Kawasaki.

What we share is the time and experiences we spend together.

Maiko says she is a fan of the food that Atsuko-san makes. When we asked her if she wanted to have a meal, she said, "There is always a theme of whether to go Korean or Italian this time," and since it was Corona beer this time, she challenged us to try Mexican for the first time. Everyone tucked into the delicious Mexican food, and as the spare ribs and sausages were grilled, the Corona beer corks opened at an accelerated rate - and the beer was ready to be served.

As I watched YASUYASAN open and hand out beers with the bottle opener next to the cooler box, I noticed something. Even the process of uncorking a bottle of beer can be a good accent for communication.

A barbecue among friends goes at its own pace, and this beer goes well with that kind of scene. The style of drinking it with a lime drop is delicious and fashionable. Since I was young, I've always thought of it as something you'd find in stores and places where people hang out, so now that I'm an adult, I still think it's perfect when a group of friends get together and have fun.

By venturing outdoors, you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and feel alive - you don't have to go far to have a "THIS IS LIVING" moment. The Hanawa family, enjoying a summer evening in their garden with a Corona beer in hand, showed me this.
