September 24 during the Milan Collection,BOTTEGA VENETA.'s Spring/Summer 2017 collection has been presented. This runway show celebrated the 15th anniversary of Tomas Maier's appointment as Creative Director and the 50th anniversary of the brand's establishment. The hallways of the cobblestone hallways of the Brera National Academy of Fine Arts, a prestigious institution in Italy, were lined with sculptures and works of art, creating a fantastic mood that attracted the hearts of the visitors.
The collection, as Tomas Maier says, "I wanted to express the concept of personal luxury, which is experienced by wearing any item of clothing, bags, shoes, or jewelry, while remaining faithful to the philosophy of the brand," and even seemingly ordinary items are made of high quality materials Even seemingly ordinary items are elaborately crafted using high quality materials.
The collection is impressive for the variety of items using leather that can only be found at Bottega Veneta, such as jackets combining various leathers, open-necked shirts using thin and supple suede, and leather pants with a wide silhouette like a hakama (Japanese traditional Japanese male dress). Western-style shirts and work-style chinos are also available, creating an American atmosphere. For the ladies, there were items that were reissued from the brand's archives, such as the clutch bag that actress Lauren Hutton carried in the 1980 movie "American Gigolo. Lauren herself also made an appearance at the show, surprising the audience.
In conjunction with the show, the company announced the launch of a scholarship program for students of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes de Brera.
