Odd" is a clothing design label that started out of curiosity about how to play with the process itself, rather than with existing methods of clothing production.
This exhibition is based on the theme of "drawing and making clothes," which seems to be a common theme in clothes making since the start of the activity in 2016. However, the drawings by the creator, Michihiko Takayama, are not design drawings or finished clothing, but rather huge drawings of doodles that he draws when he is on the phone or when he is distracted. He cuts fabric in the shape of the lines of the drawings and pins them together to make clothes while searching for the shape of clothes that will fit a person.
In other words, at the stage of drawing, one has no idea whether it will become a shirt or a skirt, or what kind of clothing it will become. Furthermore, the very unique method of creating unique textiles and clothing in a way that is far removed from the norm in textile design is remarkable.
In this exhibition, we will show both the drawings on which the clothes are based and the clothes made from the drawings. Please come and see these garments, which seem to break a hole in the conventional wisdom of clothing making.
