The book "100 Movies for Everyone," fully illustrated by popular illustrator Osamu Nagaba, is now in its fifth printing. With such a tailwind, the second volume, "100 Love Movies for Everyone," will be released as soon as possible.
The picture book-like structure of the book, in which illustrator Osamu Nagaba selects and draws a scene from a movie, excerpts various lines from the movie, and gives his own commentary, remains unchanged.
In addition to the open binding as used in notebooks, the design and binding are by art director Kohshin Maeda, as in his previous work, with a transparent film cover so that the fluorescent pink threads on the spine can be seen.
This work is limited to 100 films related to love, and the texts are written by Mayumi Yamase, Tomoko Ogawa, and Shiho Nakamura, who are active in culture magazines such as "POPEYE," "TRANSIT," and "GINZA" magazines.
The commentaries vary from light reading to thought-provoking, and some so-called great lines appear, while others are not so much to be taken seriously.
Anyway, this book will make you want to see a movie after reading it. This kind of "movie book" is very valuable.

Born in Tokyo in 1976. Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University. His specialty is simple line drawings that capture the characteristics of human figures. In addition to creating one piece of artwork every day as private work, he is active in a wide range of fields, including advertising, books, and collaborations with apparel brands. 2015 saw the release of "I DRAW," a collection of his work, and in 2017, "I DID" (PARCO Publishing), an archive collection of his work from the past three years. He also did all the illustrations for the previous book, "100 Movies for Everyone.
Japanese spindle tree (Euonymus sieboldianus)
Born in Tokyo in 1986. Artist and writer. Graduated from Chelsea College of Arts and Design, University of the Arts London. She creates colorful abstract paintings in acrylic and three-dimensional works using felt. Currently also works as a writer for "POPEYE" and "GINZA".
Tomoko Ogawa
Born in Tokyo in 1982. Writer and editor. Graduated from Sophia University, Faculty of Comparative Culture. After working for a film promotion and distribution company and for the editorial department of "ecocolo," he became a freelance writer. He has written and conducted interviews mainly for magazines such as "GINZA," "Numero TOKYO," "i-D Japan," and "TRANSIT.
Shiho Nakamura
Born in 1982 in New York. Graduated from Keio University with a BA in Literature and an MA in Media Studies from Goldsmiths College, University of London. After working as an editor for TRANSIT and Bijutsu Techo, she became a freelance editor and writer. Her favorite film director is Derek Jarman, and she is a mother of two.
