In Thailand, the Land of Smiles, there is a traditional event called "Songkran" in which water is poured over Buddhist statues and stupas during the Chinese New Year. However, as time went by, the festival turned into a "water-splashing festival" where passersby splashed water on each other, and in 2015, the water-splashing festival and music were finally combined to launch the S20 SONGKRAN MUSIC FESTIVAL.
This festival is not a simple "splash" event; you will literally get soaked. However, combined with the appearance of a splendid DJ lineup, tickets have sold out every year since the inaugural event in 2015. This year again, 60,000 people attended over the three days. In August 2018, the festival will finally come to Japan.
The lineup includes cashmere, deoro, and other party leaders. Of course, the level of soaking wet is as good as back home.
August in Tokyo will be extremely hot. Let's all go get wet.
