While the World Cup, a soccer festival held once every four years, is steadily progressing, and the drama of the matches is unfolding on the pitch, photographer Kishomaru Shimamura will hold an exhibition titled "Football Phenomenon.
This is a collection of photos taken and documented by SHUKYU Magazine in four Russian cities (Moscow, Saransk, Volgograd, and Sochi) during the World Cup from June 17 to 25. As you can see, this is not just sports photography, as SHUKYU Magazine is different from so-called "soccer magazines" that report on the latest professional soccer matches.
The photos of supporters gathered at the stadium, the local people, and the scenery of the city will give you a sense of the real atmosphere of the area that cannot be conveyed through the daily news reports. These works will be included in the "RUSSIA ISSUE" of "SHUKYU Magazine," which is currently under production. The magazine and other related goods, as well as items exclusive to this exhibition, will be on sale at the venue.
