Sony Corporation.The history of Sony is the history of Japan's rapid economic growth. The "It's a Sony" exhibition at the Sony Building in Ginza is a must-see exhibition that traces the history of Sony, a company that has astonished the world with its ideas and technology.
The Ginza Sony Building is scheduled to begin a major renovation in 2018; operations will end on Friday, March 31, 2017, and reconstruction will begin.
Prior to the temporary closing of the building, the "It's a Sony Exhibition" will be held as a countdown event to introduce the 50-year history of the Sony Building and its future, along with past and present "Sony" products.
The 138-day exhibition is divided into two parts: the first half and the second half. The first half of the exhibition will focus on the theme of "History" and the second half will focus on the theme of "Future".
The "History" exhibit, which opens on November 12, focuses on such masterpieces as the transistor radio, the WALKMAN, and the AIBO. Also on display will be memorable Sony products from Pierre Taki, Jun Miura, and others.
Sony has built the foundation of Japan as a technological superpower. There is much to learn from its history. We hope you will visit the museum.
