The skateboarding brand "GIRL" was started in 1994 by professional skater Rick Howard, film director Spike Jonze, and graphic artist Andy Jenkins. The sibling brand "CHOCOLATE" was launched by a multinational group of skaters and quickly rose to the mainstream.
The brand has released T-shirts and skate decks co-produced with four stores that boast overwhelming popularity among Japanese skaters.
The logo is printed by Evan H icox, designer of Chocolate, with the name of each store drawn in a chunk font, meaning "lump.
Chocolate" specializes in more artistic items than the more authentic "Girl". If you like skating, this is a must-have.
