SO NAKAMEGURO SHOP & HOSTEL is located about a 7-minute walk from Nakameguro Station in the direction of Saigoyama Park. The 60-year-old house has been fully renovated.
Entering through the old-fashioned sliding door entrance, one is greeted by a spacious store floor. The high ceilings that give an overwhelming sense of openness and the old-fashioned interior, with sunlight streaming in through small windows, make you feel as if you are being transported back to a bygone era.

First is the dining space on the 1.5 floor. A kitchen is permanently installed here , so feel free to enjoy cooking. There is a supermarket near the station , so you can get ingredients from there.
Further up the stairs, on the second floor, there is a Japanese-style room space with a four-mat room. There is also a bathroom in the back. A futon is always available in the closet, so it is possible to sleep here.
And the Western-style room on the third floor is a larger structure than the one on the floor below. With two semi-double beds, this room can accommodate up to four people. Of course, it also comes with a TV and a vanity table.
The store was started by Ryo Miyoshi, the director of "1LDK" and the man at the helm of this store, who was impressed by the convenience of "airbnb," a search site for private accommodations, when he was on a business trip abroad. . It is also attractive to inbound travelers as well as Japanese who can use the site in a rough and ready manner. However, since the private accommodation facility is not yet ready, the project is underway with a target opening date of January next year, so please look forward to it. Please tell us about the background of your opening of a store in Nakameguro that also serves as an overnight stay facility.
Miyoshi：This year marks 10 years since "1LDK" opened in Nakameguro. Even though the streets remain the same, the people who come to this town are changing year by year. The world is moving in the direction of globalization, and this is becoming more and more noticeable in Japan as well. I often go abroad for work, and I was influenced by "Airbnb," a private accommodation search site that I often use. I love Nakameguro, and I wanted more people to enjoy it, so I planned this type of store. I hope many people will use this store.
Please tell us about the origin of the store name "SO NAKAMEGURO SHOP & HOSTEL".
Miyoshi：The word "SO" comes from the Chinese character "so. SO" also means "very" when translated into Japanese. Adding this adverb adds weight to the character. . That is why we decided to give it this name.
