The location is in Kanda, Tokyo, where wholesale stores dealing in a wide range of household goods, such as kimono shops, confectionery shops, and Shinto shrines, have stood side by side since the early Edo period. The area surrounding the store is lined with historical buildings selected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and is filled with the atmosphere of the good old days. T-Michael, the designer of Norwegian Rain, and Alexander Helle, the director of Norwegian Rain, liked this area so much that they decided to open the store.
Based on the concept of "Norway Meets Japan," the store was renovated from a wooden house that had been used as a glass wholesaler since the early Showa period. The store is furnished with sophisticated furniture and fixtures from Norway, their home country, which are in perfect sync with the atmosphere of the old house. In addition, they also have a hideaway BAR at the back of the second floor.
The lineup includes waterproof rainwear made from the brand's iconic recycled Japanese fabrics and T-Michael's own brand, "T-MICHAEL," allowing customers to fully enjoy his worldview.
