~STORY~.
Paris in the summer sun. David, a young man working as a handyman, meets and falls in love with Lena, a beautiful woman who comes to Paris. They lead a peaceful and happy life, until a sudden tragedy causes the death of his beloved sister, leaving David in a state of grief. He is left to take care of his niece Amanda, who is left all alone and without any relatives... It is too much for young David to take the place of his parents, and Amanda is unable to comprehend her mother's death. . However, despite their inextinguishable grief, a bond gradually begins to form between the two of them.
What if one day, someone you loved was suddenly and absurdly taken from you? How would the survivors come to terms with it and live the rest of their lives? In this age when it is not safe to be anywhere in the world, this film depicts the process of healing from sudden loss, which can happen to anyone, by accompanying a young man and a young girl.
A moving film can often become clichéd if it is overdone. . That is where the director's taste, skill, and subtlety come into play. At the 31st TIFF, where the film won both the Grand Prix and the Best Screenplay Award, the President of the Jury, Brillante Mendoza, applauded the film, saying, "Although it looks simple at first glance, it is by no means a simple film, and it is a wonderful film that strongly engages our hearts and lets us experience complex human emotions as a film.
