Formal, military, or work based, narrow style with excellent tailoring. Or loose, long, relaxed styles. This season,Jil Sander. In their first solo men's show as Creative Directors of the brand, Lucy and Luke Meyer presented a new concept that was in direct opposition to tradition.
This is also evident in the bag collection. A sliding pochette with an image of a matchbox, and a backpack made of cordura nylon that conforms flexibly to the body. All of them are one-tone, even the stitching is the same color. What emerged was an interesting rational and constructive design. Jil Sander, who regards accessories as a part of clothing, blends in with both on and off-duty styles without any sense of incongruity.
The matchbox motif has a hint of the street. One of the creative directors, Luke Mayer, was the head designer of Supreme before launching OAMC, and he has a mischievous sense of humor.
Jil Sander's identity of clean and minimalism has been updated with traditional know-how and a progressive and free spirit.
