Recently published.special feature articleAs we reported in detail in the previous issue, the head office was moved to Tokyo this year, and the brand, which has been in business for more than 70 years, has stepped into a new venture by launching two new labels.
How do the two already existing labels differ: the "explorer( explorer)" trekking label for mountaineers who enjoy the mountains and the "life ( life )" lifestyle label?
I will introduce each of these points as I pick them. First, let's talk about "Ultimate".
Ultimate" is a label that expresses and drives the brand's identity as a successor to alpinism. It is characterized by its pursuit of expertise and the development of top alpine products that can withstand the toughest conditions, in collaboration with climbers active in Japan and abroad.
For the first installment, the Fall/Winter 2019 season, the lineup features ice climbing-themed items in pursuit of the ultimate equipment. Signaling the launch of the label, we can finally see 's ultra-seriousness. The first item in the lineup is the "Kalimar" ice climbing gear.
Next, we will discuss the other label, Aspire.
aspire" is the first fashion label for "CALIMAR". This is the brand's first ever attempt to combine the two elements of "practicality" as a tool and "beauty of dressing" which are contradictory to each other.
In its debut season, the brand focused on "the beauty of carrying a rucksack, its comfort and wearability," and expressed fashion in the form of mobile equipment. The look, which exploded with the creativity of stylist Ryota Yamada, who has been involved in the brand's visuals for the past dozen seasons, is a clear indication of the seriousness of KARIMER.
