Shibuya PARCO" held its grand opening last November. It is crammed with a variety of stores, but in fact there is only one outdoor-related tenant. That is THE NORTH FACE LAB.

As the name suggests, this is a lab. It is a bit different from a regular store, and its most distinctive feature is that it offers a service called "141 CUSTOMS.

A dedicated staff member provides counseling, and a machine in the store scans the customer's body shape information. Based on this information, an original pattern is drawn up, and the main material, lining, zipper, buttons, and logo colors can be changed to the customer's own specifications according to his or her preferences. This means that customers can create the world's one and only "The North Face" wear.

Not all items will be available for this service, and there are certain models that can be customized. The first phase of the lineup, for the Fall/Winter 2019 season, includes the three models pictured above. While these will continue, the following items will be added starting with the Spring/Summer 2020 season.

The three standard models are the "Climblite Jacket," the "Mountain Rain Tex Jacket," and the "Swallowtail Hoody." The lineup ranges from water-repellent to 3-layer gore.

To receive this service, the customer must first complete a web-based simulation and make an appointment to visit a store, then visit the store for a consultation and 3D scan, followed by delivery in about 30 to 40 business days.

If only the sleeves were a little shorter... or if the color here were like this... You can do all of these things freely. Please take this opportunity to create your own original dress. Reservations are already being taken, and in-store counseling will begin on Thursday, February 27.
