Up-and-coming young creators participate. An exhibition of upcycled T-shirts will be held at Omotesando ROCKET.

Opened in 1996, it has held various exhibitions until now.Omotesando ROCKET". Tee Upcycle" will be held for 20 days from July 3 (Fri.) to 22 (Wed.) to exhibit and sell upcyclable T-shirts with the goal of tackling environmental issues from a fashion perspective.

This exhibition features up-and-coming young creators active in Japan and abroad. Originally scheduled to be held during the Golden Week holidays, the exhibition was cancelled and started as an online-only event to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. Now that the daily routine has been gradually restored, the number of participating creators has been increased and the exhibition will be held in real life with more power than originally planned.

Participating creators come from a variety of industries, including artists, fashion designers, embroiderers, stylists, illustrators, photographers, graphic designers, and models. Some make their living in fashion, while many are active in other fields, and we look forward to seeing what kind of work they will produce.

Upcycling, which is the theme of this year's exhibition, differs from recycling and reuse in that it is the concept of not throwing away unwanted items, but rather adding new ideas to them while utilizing their original shape and characteristics. The exhibition features T-shirts created by participating creators, each with his or her own unique world view, and visitors can purchase the ones they like best.
