TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance" is a brand that stands out from the crowd on the sneaker front.
The brand, which is jointly developed by an American and Japanese design team, has produced a number of high-profile products through collaborations that capture current trends.
And this time around, the brand has teamed up with OVERCOAT, launched in 2015 by New York-based designer Ryuhei Oomaru. They will be releasing a pair of sneakers and two types of apparel.
The sneaker is based on the "R_C1300," which debuted in May of this year. The upper design is inspired by the "M1300," New Balance's flagship model, and the sole unit is based on the latest "R_C4" technology, making this a pair that is worthy of being called "new from the past.

The original pattern is expressed by cutting out the surface of a single piece of leather. The new model is different from the usual model that layers several parts to achieve a comfortable fit.
In addition, high-intensity reflective material is applied to the cutouts to increase nighttime visibility and add accents.

And two apparel items will be available: the Oversized Shirt Jacket and the Cape Shoulder Hooded Jacket.
NB HEAT, a functional material that is both lightweight and highly heat-retentive, is arranged in Overcoat's unique pattern-making process. Both are finished in an all-black minimalist design that can be worn with any style.
The minimalistic collaborative pieces, which bring out the strengths of both companies, will go on sale on November 13 (Fri.). It will be available at the official New Balance online store, T-House New Balance, Dover Street Market GINZA, and other retailers.
