The Road to the Shonan International Marathon] Vol. 3 This is the winning outfit! HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB's handsome race style.

The 15th Shonan International Marathon will be held on February 28, 2021. Unfortunately, the event has already been announced to be changed from a "full marathon" to a "25km course," but preparations for the event are still underway.

Several members of our HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB ♡, including Issey Enomoto, the club leader, and Hiroshi Yamamoto, the vice leader, are planning to participate in this event. Whatever the distance or course, each member is preparing for the day of the race by running every day in order to be in perfect condition.

Another important preparation for the marathon is to examine the gear you will wear on race day. What clothes and shoes will you wear? Narrowing down the gear while imagining the course, weather, temperature, and other factors can be both difficult and fun.

Therefore, the members of HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡, who are planning to participate in this event, visited a store to procure clothing and shoes to be worn at the Shonan International Marathon.

This is THE NORTH FACE FLIGHT TOKYO in Marunouchi, Tokyo. It is a running store directly managed by THE NORTH FACE. The North Face has been a special sponsor of the Shonan International Marathon since this year.

Please note that this store is very dangerous for runners who like fashion and gear. Because there are too many attractive items and you will want this and that. Enomoto, Yamamoto, and Eri-chan were all struggling to suppress their material desires.

It is also reassuring to know that the staff are all runners who make a habit of running on a regular basis and can offer appropriate advice based on their own experiences.

Let's start with Yamamoto's selection. While the jacket and pants are in the same light blue color, the T-shirt and shoes are in the same khaki color. This color scheme may be unusual for marathon styling. Therefore, it may stand out during the race. The runner plans to carry his own bottle, which is a must-have item, in a bottle holder on his waist pouch.

Next is Enomoto's selection. In contrast to Yamamoto's color scheme, which is unexpected, this outfit is coordinated in a color scheme that looks like everyday wear. It is a casual color combination that would not look out of place on a train or at a café. To carry his own bottle, which is a must-have item, he chose a sack with a chest pocket.

The last selection is Eri's. Like Enomoto, she coordinates with a chic color scheme with a casual feel. As for the new rule of carrying one's own bottle, the runners are required to carry a soft flask in a mesh pocket on the waist of their shorts.

The final decision on whether or not the 15th Shonan International Marathon will be held is scheduled to be announced on December 10, 2020, in consideration of the infection status of the new coronavirus. Although the future of the marathon remains uncertain, runners who plan to participate in this year's marathon can only pray that they will be able to run safely on the day of the event, February 28, 2021.
